New thread lassies for all things Jamie and Claire (and all things in between).

Only two episodes left! Hope everyone enjoyed episode 11.

I just remembered to add one of my favourite sailors from this episode:

"Mac duhs wife turns up in the most unlikely of places,"

"Aye just drops out of nowhere!"

Thought that was hilarious. Really like Jamie's men (can't remember their names!).

Excellent thread title Mo Grin

Just catching up from the last thread and last episode ...

When she sees Jamie on the beach, this is the real reunion between them. There are no doubts or hesitations for either of them this time.

I like this way of looking at it Smile

As much as I love RR, I hope we don't get any Bree and Roger sex scenes either.

Totally agree with this, too. Although given how much is made of Bree and Roger's first shag in the book, there's no way we'll escape without it.

My favourite lines in the whole episode are from the little exchange between the Scottish crew:

MacDubh's wife turns up in the most unlikely of places, does she no'?

Aye, she just drops in out o' nowhere

Made me laugh out loud.

Agh it took me so long to type that, you beat me to it Mo Grin

Haha, that line was brilliant! And those two characters are ok but they're just a bargain bin Rupert and Angus reallySad

Missing all the Scotland characters, if I'm honest. Damn you, Gabaldon!

The thought of having to see bree sex makes my blood run cold!!!

OTOH really hoping for some Fersali sex - tell me will I get my wish tonight?!? Saw some wedding pics on twitter and that hipster scarf is not helping my budding Fergus obsession

The only Fergus/Marsali sex I can remember off hand is when she is in labour with wee Henri-Christian. He reckons it makes labour go quicker, apparently les jeunes filles in his childhood brothel engaged in labour sex with each other to ease the pain.

Bree and Roger sex is cringeworthy but at least we might be spared the creepy breastfeeding.

Hayes and Leslie don't do it for me at all. Gavin Hayes is the one who gets hanged at the beginning of DoA, when they first encounter Stephen Bonnet. I wonder how they will manage that one, although someone dies because they were filming the graveyard scene in Falkirk quite recently.

Hi everyone. Didn't catch up in time to post on the last thread.

I loved it. I actually laughed at the end when Mr Willoughby can clearly hear them at it, and chuckles indulgently. Good place to end the episode.

Points:
How come it took Claire 2 days to get inland, and tewnty minutes to get back? (I'm assuming the current would have dumped them both on the same side of the island, as that's what currents generally do).
Thank God Jamie saw her. Was dreading another near miss, endless search crap bit.
Recunion was brilliant, don't think SH has ever looked so good. Even a kilt wouldn't have made the run along the beach better (plus they smell awful when wet).
Loved the python! How much 'acting' did CB do there?? We have 2 (much smaller) pythons and they're very unnerving even when you know/like/trust them!
Her ant bandaging was simply crap.
Furgus' scarf! Bit of ad-lib wardrobe there?
The wedding was all warm and fuzzy, very well done. But overuse of the word cock. We got the joke the first six time he said it.
Loved Mamita. In the book she's just a horrid nobody. Loved how some bits were subtitled.
Poor old coco wilson had DG watched Castaway the night she wrote that bit (was it even in the book)?

And I got chucked out half way through last night. Stated to watch Versaille instead (to fill the time), please tell me Claire turns up and has to shag him to get her husband out of jail? Looks more serious than Outlander, which is increasingly comedic. But still brilliant.

Both the cock bit and coco are in the book. Much more is made of them in the book than in the show, but, then, Father Fogden is a bit of a pathetic drunken stoner in the book and not much else. he is a much more complex character in the show.

You're right about Sam, how hot can one bloke be. That bit reminded me of the old twix adverts. made me smile.

should have said, for anyone who didn't see on the last thread you can buy elderberries on amazon or from any home brew shop. you can also pick them in September/October time and dry them at home, if you want to do that next season.

I know there’s not a lot of fersali sex in the books but I’m hoping the show runners realise they have a winner there ;)

Love that bit about MacDubh's wife I thought it was a clever comment on DG'S plots Grin.

I hope they don't do the Brianna and Roger sex bits, too. After emotionally investing in C & G, I don't want to know about their daughter having sex!

Coco and the cock bits in the wedding were in the book. Loved Father Fogden, so funny, and Mamacita 's dirty looks to Claire.

I've started watching from the beginning again it's really nice to go back to see how Jamie and Claire started. So gutted there are only 2 more new episodes in the new series 😒

I liked it overall, but agree a bit much boring jungle footage. Where's the Jewish nature guy? Claire was extremely annoying and ridiculous - when she opened her eyes after her near death experience, wakes up in a strange place with a strange man , first thing she says, I am a doctor you know....
Loved Mamacita. Fergus' scarf reminded me of my nephew's manky blankly he used to drag around everywhere. Not sexy. Roll on next week..

We've already seen young Ian having sex. I couldn't watch, it was like intruding in your children's sex lives. Bleurrgghh. Would have rather watched the horrible part with the beetles again.

This book/season was always going to be a shambolic tbh, the storyline was crap. Once they get established on the Ridge I think a lot of the real feeling comes back, rather than running around chasing crocodiles etc.

oh it was SO MUCH FUN!!! honestly, I really enjoyed it. Forget all about the books, the totally bonkers plot, how much more plot in just 2 episodes etc. it was just brilliant fun. And I really feel Claire deserved an episode where she gets to show just how tough and resilient she is, like Jamie did at the beginning of the season.

Lovely wedding scene, you could literally feel the love, and the last scene with the turtle soup was brilliant.

the pacing in this season has been a bit off but i really felt this episode was a winner.
