Mother’s Day is just around the corner and, to celebrate, Lidl want to know what dish you'd like to be served on a perfect Mothering Sunday. Whether this is a snack, starter, main course, cake or dessert, please share your ideal dish on this thread - then Michelin-starred chef Kevin Love will create recipes using Lidl items for a selection of MNers choices! (In an ideal world your OH or DC would then actually make them for you!)

So please share on this thread what you've love to see created for you on Mother's Day - Lidl would love to hear them

Share your ideal Mother’s Day dish with Lidl by posting on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where five MNers will each win a £50 Lidl voucher.

Please note your comments may be used by Lidl elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck!

Fry off mushrooms and garlic, add some cream cheese until melted. Sprinkle some chilli flakes on, and stir through freshly boiled spaghetti. Add a side salad, and its lovely.

A lovely beef roast dinner with crisp roasties and fluffy yorkshires. And ideally it would be cooked by someone else Smile

I would love DH and DC to make me dinner on Mother's Day and I think even they could handle my all time fave, quick, healthy dinner.

Halloumi with Peri Peri Roasted Vegetables and cous cous. My top tip is to add the cous cous and stock in with the roasted veg when it comes out the oven and mix and scrape up all the deliciousness at the bottom of the tin, cover with clingfilm while you grill your Halloumi then tuck in!

Spanish chicken.
Chicken thighs, Lidl chorizo, new potatoes, onions and cherry tomatoes all roasted with garlic and oregano.

Its so easy and perfect wth cous cous salad and fresh bread.

Plus it's not expensive either and you can buy all the ingredients in the one shop....Wink

My favourite dish for Mothers Day would be a roast turkey dinner.

I love puddings but can never convince anyone to make one for ME Grin I also adore floral creams - rose, violet, lavender, geranium, anything - and the children's 'safe bet' present for Mother's Day is a box of Charbonnel & Walker rose and violet creams. I would love them to rustle me up a dessert based on dark chocolate and floral cream.

Scallops and bacon for starters. Perhaps with a posh twist (spinach is nice with it).

Brunch is my favourite meal - so i'd love a cup of piping hot earl grey tea delivered to me in bed, and then a luxury half hour in bed with my book. And when I rise I'd love poached eggs, spinach and hollandaise sauce served on a toasted english muffin.

Not too much to ask - surely?!

Fishcakes made with cod and smoked haddock and a salsa to go with it.

My favourite mothers day dinner would be tomartoe and mozzarella with dressing followed by a nice home made lasagne or penne aribiata and for dessert either tiramasu or profiteroles dripping with chocolate. To finish I would have a nice mocha with the large box of chocolates I hope I get for mothers day. Yum cant wait

I would love breakfast in bed. Bagels, cream cheese and maple cured bacon. With orange juice. and champagne

And it's made with minimal banging about so I can lie in bed and snooze 😊

My ideal dish would be low calorie, creamy-tasting with a fruity zing.

Maybe passion fruit tart or cheesecake? Something that's easy to make and will keep in the fridge for a day or two.

And it'll hopefully slice easily and look good on the plate rather than landing with a splodge.

I'm a coeliac, so for me a perfect lunch is one that shows that dh has really tried to make it special. So something I love, but you can't just buy - like gf breaded mushrooms with garlic mayo, a lovely gf lasagna with garlic bread and a salad with balsamic dressing, then a nice cheesecake with a ginger crust and zingy filling.

Reality will be that I'll be running a reeeeaaaally long way, then lying on the sofa drinking protein shake and eating pringles

Pork belly with some kind of sticky sauce, creamy mash (carrot, potato, cauliflower?) and fresh greens, maybe sprouts with bacon bits or tender stem broccoli.

Anything I don't have to cook (or clean up after).

Ideally, a good steak, rare, served with salad and chips, followed by a lemon tart/cheesecake.

My ideal meal would be Malaysian Fish Stew with rice and salad (followed by Chocolate Puddle Pudding).

My favourite is a pigeon dish...not sure lidls sell those! I stir fry in with mushrooms and make a creamy sauce. Add spinach, just before serving with lots of black pepper. Yum

I would love a huge roast chicken dinner, crispy potatoes, parsnips, loads of cauliflower cheese and lots and lots of gravy! I definitely need dh to cook this for me as I hate cooking roast dinners but love eating them! Oh and a lovely apple crumble and custard for pudding.. I'm hungry now!!

My ideal meal would be a veggie feast.
Aperitives-glass of cava or three with garlic stuffed olives, roasted red peppers in olive oil and slices of manchego cheese.
Starter- baked or grilled goats cheese on a baby leaf salad with balsamic dressing and a tart redcurrant or caramelised onion chutney on the side.
Main course- a light roast vegetable tart with a side of edamame beans, broccoli and courgette, with a honey and mustard glaze drizzled over. All accompanied by a lovely chilled Rueda or Pinot Grigio white wine.
Dessert- a raspberry and dark chocolate cheesecake, decorated with juicy fresh raspberries. Whatever is left over from the bottle of cava!

Yum!!
