We’re pleased to announce that here at MNHQ, we’ve worked with Cadbury to create a shiny new chocolate bar emoticon Chocolate Smile

There are many occasions when a MNer may deserve a chocolate bar, and a moment of joy after your DCs have done something you’re particularly proud of may be one of these key moments. The more joyful the moment, the higher it might rate on the Joy-o-meter.

Cadbury say “What we’ve created in partnership with Mumsnet is a fun addition to the MN emoticon family which allows people to share their love of chocolate and how they feel about it. It’s something we feel passionately about in Cadbury and anything which brings people together in the joy of chocolate is a great moment to be embraced. Of course, we prefer the real thing, but who knows where the future will take these little emoticons so let’s wait and see Wink

So, what have your DCs done in the past couple of weeks that brought you some joy? Maybe your DC made you a cup of tea for the first time? Perhaps you’ve finally succeeded in potty-training? Or maybe your DC has done their homework without you reminding them? How would you rate this moment on the Joy-o-meter: 1 to 5 chocolate bars?

Whatever your moment of joy was, we’d love to hear about it!

Share your stories here, and offer a bit of chocolate to your fellow MNers if you like – everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck Chocolate

My dd is nearly 2 and has is just starting to tackle the use of a knife and fork. Lots of mess of course but she is getting there! She still uses her fingers when she's really hungry though. Every little milestone is precious and they all reach 5 on the joy o meter! Chocolate ChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolate

My son is 11 months. He has learned to clap and to roar like a dinosaur. This gives me huge joy! He also mastered independent standing. ChocolateStarStarStarStarStar

DS started pointing at the correct parts of the story we read most nights without prompting Smile it's lovely to see his development in such a tangible way.
Also Sad I can't see the chocolate on the app!

My 3 year old seems to be managing her anger and emotions a lot better over the last couple of weeks. I was getting very worried with a new baby on the way but DD2 has been trying to think about how it is affecting other people (hitting etc) and is really improving her temper. My 2 1/4 year old has finally started to sing along to songs. I was welling up so much when he started singing with me to twinkle twinkle. He still hasn't mastered how to say Mummy, but I'll take it SmileChocolateChocolateChocolate

My 7yo just initiated a conversation about bullying, prompted by a PHSE lesson at school today. I was so pleased she felt comfortable chatting to me about it and, best of all, had some good ideas on what she would do if she felt bullied or if she thought she saw someone else being bullied. Poor Dd was getting some hassle from some girls as school.

She stayed calm and positive as directed and she's now had letters of apology from them.

I am so proud that she took the higher ground and that she told me about it in the first place.

Definitely was a Chocolate moment

My PFB came home today with a letter saying she is Mary in the nativity!! squeal.

She mentioned being a mummy in the play a few days ago but I wasn't convinced it was the truth until I had verification from someone who wasn't 4!

Stop stomping around when he doesn't get his own way. Rate 4 on the Joy-o-meter.

Ds is 12 weeks and has just started to do proper belly laughs. The first time he did it, he couldn't stop. He must have been going for a good 5 minutes. It was very, very cute! Definetly a high score on the choco-joy-o'meter ChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolate

DD has started saying words all of a sudden. I think she must have been building them up secretly for a while as she's used at least eight different words in the last couple of weeks. But she's too young for chocolate so I'll eat the ChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolate for her :-)

my littlest DC said "thank you mama", unprompted, for the first time, in the right context. I'm raising a well mannered little girl. Made me beam Xmas Smile

Took dd to see Santa today whilst on holiday. She was a bit scared but managed to say hello Santa, told him her name and said thank you when he gave her a present. Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate
