Advice please! Contents Insurance

My contents insurance has ended, and I don't want to pay for another year as I'm moving at some point in the next month / two months max. Buildings insurance not an issue.

Anyone got any good ideas as to what I can do for these couple of months? I've had a look round the internet but can only find stuff about when houses are empty.

TIA.

They will refund you (less an admin fee) when you move so I would buy regardless. I would not be without insurance.

Alternatively you could transfer your policy to your new home.

You buy insurance and when you cancel they will refund you any due or if you pay monthly your direct debit stops and you may have a small admin fee to pay.

Very common situation with all types of insurance.

I’ve renewed for the year and will claim back when I move. Thank you very much!

don't cancel it, ask for it to be transferred to your new home. Tell them a couple of weeks before the move date and ask what charge there will be. It is likely to be much better value than cancelling and starting a new one.

Thank you Piglet, I’ll do that!
