Just thought I would share the final countdown with anyone out there going through the last few weeks of bump-dom.

Be so lovely if the baby came a bit early or at least on time (six days late with first).Want to wear fashionable clothes again, put my shoes on without getting so worn out I need a nap afterwards, painting my toenails, getting ready in the morning without it feeling like an Olympic event, walking like a regular person rather than like someone who has wet themselves!!
(this may become a reality if I dont do any pelvic floor exercises!)

Ha! Wont be long now, really want to use all the new baby stuff that is piling up.

Good luck to all of you and hope you enjoy the last few weeks of being able to sit down and rest legitimately

Hi

I'm 38+4 and I have really had enough now. DS was a week late and I just can't imagine waiting that long again. Also if this one is 6 days late it will be born on DSs birthday and 3 days late it will be DNs birthday which I don't really want.

Everyone is saying they don't think I will be that long but it just doesn't seem to want to shift.

I wish DS would let me sit down and rest but at least I do have a excuse to nap with him

Hi guys
Can I join in? I am 38 +3 today and completely fed up with it all. Was fed up at 35 weeks though, but have held off starting a similar thread, was just about to but then saw this. it would be great to share the last bit with people who understand how I feel.

Went to Midwife yesterday and she made a prediction that the baby would come this weekend!!! This is a bit annoying as if it doesn't I will be so disappointed. My waters broke 10 days early with DS which would be tomorrow by my calculations, however, I was then in labour, induced, forceps etc. for the next 3 days. Hope there is not a repeat performance. Get more and more scared as the days go on.

the midwife like to say that you don't get 2 labuors the same but mine 2 was the same both at 37 week but you don't hear that as most of the time there different lets hope it is for you.

Hi. Hope you don't mind me joining you. I'm 39+3 today with no indications of imminent labour. Was right on due date with DS so really hope this one doesn't go over. Not too fed up but will be relieved when I don't have to put up with insensitive comments like "how big are you??!!" or "crikey have you got an elephant in there!" or my favourite from yesterday "eurghhh you're massive, it doesn't even look real". Anyway, will be taking long walks, raspberry leaf tea and trying to rouse DH into an amourous evening (like I'm really in the mood but hey, when needs must

Can I join please! I've got just under three weeks to go and I'm torn between wanting this pregnancy to be over and wanting to get everything ready in the house first!

The baby's head engaged last saturday and it feels so low down, and the braxton hicks are so annoying especially at night, but I know through previous experience I could have three or four more weeks to go.

I've got an incredibly strong nesting urge, totally sabotaged by a heavy cold which is stopping me doing anything apart from feeling sorry for myself.

I'll be looking out for the birth announcements ouver the next few weeks

Ooooh i'll join in too, am 39+3 also

Midwife has offered to give me a sweep on Monday if baby hasnt arrived by then, am going to do some early xmas shopping this evening, am dreading it but am desperate to get this baby out asap by walking as much as poss.
DP wants to get the baby out using other means...but i'd rather go for a walk

Any other suggestions for getting baby out?

I've been having irregular contractions all day. It really is annoying. They are too painfull to be Braxton Hicks but not painfull enough to be the real thing. I'm also full of cold and just feel horrible.

I just want this baby out now!!!

Talking with older generations, the women all swear by castor oil - one even said it'd help the baby to slide out but not sure how safe it is as apparently you can't buy it over the counter if you say its for pregnancy. Hill walking, curries, stair climbing, bike riding (though imagine that'd be quite uncomfortable) but I'll be cutting the grass and weeding as that seemed to help last time.

Hi
Im 38+3 and feel the same, i finished work last friday and have bee working from home this week so at least that's occupied me but i know next week im going to be very bored!
think i will clean and scrub the house, walk for miles and basically try anything - i have a feeling i have a while to go though as no braxton hicks whatsoever or leaky boobs or anything - does this mean anything???

Report
rarebreed · 17/09/2008 15:26

I'm not sure, i haven't had braxton hicks at all, no leakeage either, my friends say they 'just knew' when their baby was ready to make an appearance

Can I join in? I am 37+3.
I have been Two weeks late with my other 2 births! So I could have 5 weeks.
Baby is engaged and I have been getting lots of B/H. No leakage yet which I did get before!

Why oh why do we have to wait, why cant someone tell us when the little darlings will make thier appearance?

Dont do Castor oil. I tried that with DD1. It taste like vomit and all it actually does is make you sit on the loo for a hour or so. Nice if you need a clear out

trell · 17/09/2008 15:34

I've had a few braxton hicks but not strong at all and no leakage. I keep getting sharp pains which make me feel like peeing but they last a second or two and then nothing. Also had back pain for last 2 days but suppose these are just the joys of late pregnancy.

trell · 17/09/2008 15:39

Thanks ronshar for the tip - will try to deviate the lorry load of castor oil winging its way to me from elderly Aunts, Gran etc....

Evening Primrose Oil and Raspberry leaf Tea. So far they are the things I have been told about.
I am trying Chiropractor tomorrow and Reflexology on Friday!
Will let you know

I tried everything when I was last pregnant but to no avail. It does feel like there is absolutely no room left in there this time around and it actually makes me wince when the baby moves and bears down.Lots of BH's too.

I guess they come when they are ready but that doesn't help with the waiting game.

Great to see so many responses on here.We might as well all go through it together!

I have had no BH, just pains like you Trell. Not sure what they mean. I have been drinking RL tea too, but nothing yet. We are having curry tonight, but DH tends not to make it very strong so I doubt that will do anything.

Today I have walked about 3 miles to the park and back. On the way home it was down hill which just showed me how bad a state my pelvic floor is in

What is Evening Primrose supposed to do?

I have been having leaky boobs since about 20 weeks so I don't really see that as a sign for me, but I guess it might be for others

I am not trying anything in the bedroom department with DH, look and feel too much like a whale and I have developed a DH aversion this pregnancy!!
