Could this be the very start of labour?

Please say yes!

39+1 and as of yesterday afternoon I’ve had a sort of heavy pressure in my bum. Period type pain for the last week or so too. Then from yesterday evening I’ve had a very sharp pain over my bump that lasts maybe 10 seconds or so, although only once every 2 hours ish. Also quite tender lower back ache.

So keen to get things moving now - could this be the slightest hint that things might start to happen soon?!

It could!

How are you doing now?

Hmm, disappointedly not in enough pain Grin

Got some pretty intense period pain but haven’t had anymore sharp bump pains since posting unless I slept through them!

Ah well it may still be your body warming up. Is this dc1?

GinGeum · 02/01/2019 09:04

Yes first DC, so hard to know what to look for! I think I lost my mucus plug this morning though, fingers crossed.

Are you booked in for any sweeps?

All the usual things worked for me - long walk every day, scrubbing the kitchen floor, sex

Good luck!

Nothing at all! I really thought it was imminent. Baby feels so low as if he’s just going to pop right onto the floor if I open my legs too much Grin

I have a midwife appointment on Tuesday and she said she would book me in for a sweep after that if nothing has happened.

I ate a whole raw pineapple over a 24 hour period with my first DC and my waters went, albeit very slowly (and had a 3 day wait til baby) but I'm sure it worked lol. The only thing that got the contractions going was being examined at the hospital, followed by two inductions!!

W0MAN Grin I am supposed to be having a Home birth and we’ve got builders here from today until next Thursday. You know baby is going to pick a time when they’ve just set up all their tools to begin work.

Really trying to avoid an induction Rag, hope I don’t get to that stage!

A sweep worked a treat for me last time. Dc4 was born the following day.

Having quite strong period cramps every 10 mins now, this seems a bit more promising?!

Keep timing them, this is my second pregnancy and I started my last labour with my waters breaking. This time I have had loads of ‘practice contractions’ which means I am already 1-2 cms dialated and my cervix is ready.
I had contractions for 1 hour last night which calmed down but I am sure they are dialating me more.

It’s ramping up a bit now, still 10 mins or so apart but pain is spreading more round my back. I also feel quite shaky! DH is at work but not brave enough to ring him yet incase it all stops again...
