Thanks Lady!

Spent today getting essentials like a few nappies, wipes, nappy cream, muslins, baby nail clippers, thermometer, etc - all a bit scary but I figure better to get them out of what will be my last full pay packet before mat leave Shock we are also ordering a chest of drawers to double as a changing table tomorrow, and then I think we will be 99% prepped. Eek! It's all just dumped in bags in what will be the baby's room so I can spend the first week of mat leave organising.....

Feather and Win are you starting to feel uncomfy now? I think it's just the last few days, but today I was finding it a struggle walking round shops because of dino pressing down, and couldn't stand in the queue in the coffee shop - had to commit the MN crime of saving a table whilst DH waited in line!!

Report
Pipbin · 27/12/2014 20:05

There is an exception to the crime of table saving if you are clearly pregnant.

Okay I must now stop buying things Blush I am not normally a big spender!

....but a February baby needs a snowsuit/ winter suit! And I found these and they are only £20 and soooo cute.....

Definitely starting to feel uncomfortable now rp - too much trotting about really takes it out of me. Also, getting comfortable in bed is becoming an issue and lower back is killing me! Had to sack off yoga for the last couple of weeks as it clashed with our nct class and not had time to do any at home on my own till now. It's just hit me tonight, on coming back from PiL's place for Christmas, that I'm not going back to work. Like, that's it till after I'm a mum. Shock

Brill you're so organised! We've got all the big stuff, but I need to spend the next couple of weeks buying all the bits - nappies etc. I bought her some lovely little babygros but need to get some warmer stuff too. Keep reading that snowsuit aren't ideal for newborns and that layering is the way forward. Win? RP? Which way you leaning?

How's everyone? What's the latest with you all?

Now, I need a slap around the cheeks, berries. Baby feather has been quite quiet today and I'm starting to get paranoid. I'm sure she's fine - she has her chilled days - but I do start to Low-level panic when she's like this. I've had a cold drink and am now laying on my side and there's the odd nudge but not much else. Any thoughts anyone? I'm being an idiot, right?

Feather, here's some info on when to start worrying about movements,

www.countthekicks.org.uk/mums/your-babys-movements/

My friend said her baby stopped moving at about 33 weeks but all was fine, it was to do with the amount of amniotic fluid

Thanks lentil. Trying to avoid 'count the kicks' and those sorts of apps, otherwise could drive myself mental. She's having a wriggle now - after a bowl of ice cream the size of my head - so relieved!

Feather if you are ever worried about movement just go in. I did at 28w and they were lovely. Really, just go and don't worry about being paranoid - though good she is moving now!

Yeah I don't know why the star suits page defaulted to their classics range but if you go back to the main page they also do a 'brights' range and we ordered the pea green, as I'm not 100% sure it is a girl for us, so we're buying everything in gender neutral colours.

I had a bath tonight and saw a ripple trailing across the bump from inside - knee? Foot? It was weird!!

Thanks for the new thread feather, and list lady.

Defo feeling uncomfy now RP. I'm 36 weeks (how did that happen!! Classed as full term next week!! Yikes... Can't wait and terrified all in one!!). I started feeling really uncomfy about a week ago. Struggling to find a position to sit in for any length of time. I've been finding my walking has really slowed down. I think babies head is really low and keeps banging my bladder!!

We bought a snow suit in the end. Couldn't resist!! So cute!! I'm sure we've got lots of stuff we may discover we don't need! But I'm ok with that. Even with advice, its so hard to know what this little one will be like and need.

After a slow start, I think we've got most things now. Smile a few bits and bobs left to get but nothing crucial. Still waiting for snuzpod and nursery furniture to be delivered next week. Glad Xmas is over so we can focus on it properly now!

I have one more day at work left then I'm done!! Not sure what I was thinking agreeing to go in on Monday! But hoping I can leave early.

win can't believe you are 36 weeks now. I can understand the sitting thing - I feel restless sitting At a dining table for more than 20 mins. Hospital bag!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

Is the advice useful Feather? I've never been that far along in pregnancy to feel movement but my friend who has had premature babies with medical problems is involved with the charity, and also with the Harry Cunningham Trust, raising awareness of vasa praevia, so I tend to hear a lot about what can go wrong. Not ideal for a natural born worrier like me!

Oh HERE you are. I thought I'd lost you all!
We are currently at the in-laws, and my SIL has given me a huge bag of maternity clothes so it's all starting to get a bit more real. They've also been so sweet at spotting when I start to look a bit pale, and bringing me tea and biscuits.
Have you all survived Christmas?
RP and Win, so close now! So exciting!

Hello everyone, lovely new thread. I hope I can stay.

I thought I'd pop in and say happy Xmas. I'm still nervous that I'm going to jinx myself, 5+1 today and got the old 2-3 weeks pregnant on the CB digi last week. I'm terrified to take another one but I really need to see 3+ to even begin to believe this is real again. Am I a wee bit mad? I have a scan on the 12th Jan and thinking about it is making me feel physically sick, I'm trying to ignore!

Nolly, I'm so chuffed you are here too Smile
