BFP and having a panic

Tested last week and got a negative result, had a wedding to go to on Saturday so let my hair down and had more than a few drinks. Still no AF so have now tested again and got a postive - am now in a state of total panic as wouldn't have drunk the champagne/wine over the weekend if I had known. Has anyone else done anything similar or can put my mind at rest?

I went on a complete bender the weekend before I found out I as pregnant and this included taking pain killers the next morning for a monster hangover. DD was unplanned which is my excuse, but she's fine and my excess didn't cause any issues.

I got very very drunk 3 days before I found out I was pregnant - had no idea until I realised AF was late. Embryo doesn't implant straight away or start taking anything from you for a couple of weeks (? AFAIK) - and my nearly 5 year old has no problems, other than eczema which I had as a child, so dont worry yourself - and Congratulations!!!

Thanks both - that is just what I needed to hear - not telling anyone in RL yet, and DP reckoned it must have happened to loads of people, but it hit me like a ton of bricks, and then googled what happens to babies whose mothers drink which was a big mistake I know - scared me to death!

Seriously do not worry at all - I got remarkably drunk before my bfp - midwives said dont worry.

We had an engagement party one weekend then DPs romantic birthday weekend the following one before we found out. Has to be said a lot of booze was put away on both weekends.

Docs said not to worry so I didn't and first scan proved it was all ok. Don't worry about it and CONGRATULATIONS!!! :)

hi, I got totally wasted the night before I got my BFP lol.

Yes I got my first ever BFP at the beginning of January after a pretty alcohol-fuelled new years celebration. DS1 turned out just fine :)

I got quite drunk before finding out I was pregnant. It was Christmas Day and I'd not long before had a miscarriage. Couple of weeks later BFP. He's a very typical 2 year old now!

I got hammered the weekend before my bfp (am 30wks today). Midwife said not to fret as your placenta doesn't attach until at least week 5 if not later so there's no transfer between you and the baby until then.

Thanks again ladies - it is lovely of you all to reassure me like this - I hope I can now start to relax and actually feel like celebrating, rather than thinking 'what have you done???' Not joking here, I just found out last week that I am pregnant. I had a scan today and they reckon I'm as far as 21-22 weeks!! I'm most ashamed to say I have drunk a shocking amount since conception but have been told all is looking food.

also went out & got drunk with DS, on the sat night (had a BFN the am) ate raw cake mix on the sunday (and not just a taste of it ) positive on the tuesday - he's just fine and dandy.

This time, i've had copious amounts of drugs from teeth infections and so far all is looking very good, and bubs is doing well.

had a 12 hour drinking session with clients followed by work xmas party the week before my BFP! and as it was just before xmas I was eating loads of stilton - everything is fine for me at 29 weeks...

I got a bfn on the Friday, so went out with the girls and got totally wrecked!!! Took me ages to recover the next and I was a little tearful, so tested again and got a bfp...... dd is nearly 5 and perfect .

I also have a friend who went on a week long all girls holiday and got a bfp two days after she got back!! All fine again.

I think you have to drink an awful lot consistently for it to cause damage to the baby.
