Yep, but it's still cold out there! Having said that, the road from my town to the next is looking fabulous!

I remember my sister phoning me from a train the first time she had ever been to Suffolk bellowing the exact same thing. "I'm in Suffolk. IT'S VERY PRETTY!!!". She sounded almost belligerent, as though there were countless hordes of people wanting to run down Suffolk.

Except that this year I've developed asthma as part of my early spring pollen allergy. Diagnosed yesterday. 2 puffs of the inhaler and I'll go out for a walk

I have 2 large cherry trees at the end of my garden and the falling petals have covered the grass. Very nice.

I had to send a friend cross-country after the A12 was shut at Colchester last year. She came to Stowmarket through all the pretty villages. She got here and commented on how it was no wonder I loved Suffolk.

She and other friends are campaigning for me to go back to Kent (also beautiful) but I'm starting a counter-campaign to get them up here. Pretty, quiet, good road/rail links, less competition for good schools. Did I mention pretty?

Ohhh, I have some top soil going spare...

I seed bombed it last year, but then it was dry and I'd cancelled DDs' swimming lessons, when I was planning to water/tend it, so I think they failed to sprout. I'm taking my garden to pieces and have a lot of cuttings this year so will think again. I just need to finish 2 essays (one today) for the OU and I'll be free-er.

I desperately want to do the park run in nowton park, haven't run there for years and now my daughter (one of them anyway) lives in Bury St Eds it should be possible to get there on time. Just need to not have so many injuries at once.

it's HOT in ipswich today.

i moved up here 18 years ago from Essex and i wouldn't go back. we have forests, endless mostly deserted beaches, pretty towns and villages and the best fish and chips in the country in Aldeburgh!

ipswich may not be the best of towns but i love it here. so there! the only pain is having to go up and down the bloody A12 to get anywhere.

It's tough competition between Suffolk and Norfolk I think. Both seem to capture so many passing through or intending to stay a short while. It's amazing how many people I know that have ended up in these counties from all over the UK.

I like the way everyone ignores Tally!

I'm FROM Norfolk though, some of it is pleasing to the eye (not the flatness, blackness and desolation of the fens although I kind of like that too as a landscape in a fertile desert kind of way) but it's never going to be quite as pretty as Suffolk - the Gipping valley and the bendy A1120 bits are all nicely undulating and interesting

I live on the Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border so I get the best of everything landscape-wise and the worst of everything traffic-wise (A11 and A14 required to get anywhere).

But I love it here. Even the really flat bits with dikes and canals that remind me of my native Holland. The light is just amazing.
