checking Fallopian tubes

Hi all,

If my next blood tests come back fine, I will be having my Fallopian tubes checked.
I've read a bit about how the test works but would love to hear some real experiences.

I'm also really worried about what will be done if it comes back that my tubes are blocked. What treatments are there?

I had chlamydia for about a year and and a half so I'm thinking that my tubes probably will be blocked :(

thanks all

If they are blocked, then IVF can be done. No personal experience of the procedure, though.

Thank you for your reply. I really hope it doesn't come to that :(

I had a HSG recently and I was very worried about it but it was fine. I actually found it really interesting as I got to see what was happening on the screen.
I had to put a hospital gown on and they get to lie you on a bed. They place a speculum and then inject dye up through your cervix. They then take a live X-ray and you can see the dye going up and through your tubes. To be honest I wasn't really paying much attention to what they were doing as the nurse was so lovely and chatty and it distracted me.
My tubes are both clear and I am waiting for an appointment for the next step.
Good luck!

Hi Catley, I've not had a HSG, but I have had same worries as you regarding chlamydia. I've was diagnosed with it five years ago and must have had it ages as hadn't had unprotected sex at all in the previous two years.

I was terrified my tubes would be blocked but I conceived naturally in June of this year (sadly ended in early miscarriage) So I just wanted to say that it's not a certainty your tubes will be blocked.

Good luck with it allSmile
