The Organised Mum Method

Does anyone fancy joining me in following the organised mum method?

Back to work tomorrow after the summer off (work term time only) and need to get on top of a house work routine after struggling this last year or so to stay on top of things.

I suffer with anxiety and can easily get lost in my mood without structure and I like what I saw on the website. Will probably tweek the method as I go but it's a good structured plan to kick things off.

I work odd hours around the kids being at school but have a clear hour each day to dedicate to this. Plus I am sick of losing my weekends to playing catch up when I could be doing nicer things with the kids!!

Four of us in a 4 bed semi which is clean, just full of stuff that comes with having kids. It can get pretty messy!

Have done the odd bit of decluttering over the summer which has made a bit of a difference!

Looking forward to having a house that doesn't embarrass me on the odd occasion a guest arrives unannounced Blush

Ooh this sounds just like what I need. Is there a link?

I found this method after a recommendation here a couple of weeks ago.

I really like it. The structure. The print outs. The free weekends. I am loving it so far

I’m with team TOM! I’m pretty hopeless at following the routine religiously but with a new job starting tomorrow and a new school year I’m up for the challenge!

If you search on Facebook you can find the link. It’s a closed group.

I'm already following it but will join you! I started it 3 months ago when I moved house.

I have tweaked it as I can't face doing much in the bathrooms everyday and so do hallways and stairs on a Monday with the living room, and bathrooms on a Wednesday.

We have 3 children aged 8, 6 and 2 and live in a 3 bed semi detached townhouse.

I know what you mean about structure - I often find myself feeling very anxious and my mood plummets if I feel like I am not in control and on top of the housework. Having TOMM has really helped me!

Ooh nice response Grin

I just googled after I read something on here about life changing hacks! Excited to learn there is a fb group!!

Have printed off all the printable sand am still trying to decide whether or not to hit bootcamp or normal routine.

Nice to learn people have found the method effective. Is it sad I am exited to get started?

If you join the fb group you won't just be excited, you'll also be poor when you start buying all the recommended products and gear 😂

Off to Google.
We regularly 'declutter' which mainly involves moving things from one place to another so one or 2 rooms are clear. Don't mention the others Blush

Ooh ive just started this but havent finished decluttrring to be properly reduced to 45mins. I really dont clean regularly at all so need this!

I do t reallylike the fb group as too many posts and products but fancy a thread here. I fully expect to tweak to fit us.

Ive ordered a white board i can fix to my kitchen wall so I can tick each day.

I have depression/anxiety/ME and possible adhd... I'm hoping it will help me be less overwhelmed.

Ooh lovely, some more on board!

I think the method will help all of us that suffer with our mental health. My house definitely reflects my mood or where I am in terms of my depression/anxiety!

Been added on the fb group. Will have a proper peruse during my downtime later.

Just tackled hoovering middle floor of house which was covered in DH sock fluff, had to empty the hoover twice Blush

I bought a lovely new 'Mum' diary which is an academic one and will be planning out my days in there. I like lists and dabbled with bullet journaling but couldn't keep on top of it, found I spent more time planning/making the book pretty rather than actually doing anything. So will be making quick to the point to do lists daily that I can tick off as I go. It also helps me remember the endless school stuff coming up etc.....

Feeling motivated (just hope it lasts Wink).

I could do with this. We’ve had a lot of work done on the house as well as inheriting a lot of stuff over the last year and my house, although beautifully decorated, looks like a jumble sale. I think we need more storage but the Dh won’t have it. We have a lot of stuff that doesn’t necessarily need chucking away but doesn’t need to be in a heap on the floor because I don’t know where else to put it either.

Yes I follow it & it has changed my life.
Even got OH on board as he can see how much cleaner & organised the house is.

My problem room is the kitchen but I’m hoping once I’ve properly sorted the entire room out it will get easier to do.
Upstairs, the bathrooms & living room have all massively benefited & I feel better as I know it’s done & anyone can come around no worries.

The organised Christmas is starting tomorrow so taking a look at that.

Haven't rtft but it has revolutionised my life!!

I randomly came across it about 8 months ago, it makes housework so much easier. 30 mins on level one jobs and 30 mins in a room.
I generally do the level 1 jobs in the morning as the kids are getting ready for school/eating breakfast.
