(35 Posts)Hello, please can anyone recommend your favourite recipes for the fast800? Preferably with links or instructions!
Thanks
Do you have any of the recipe books?
I found the original “ guide” book actually has the most usable recipe ideas. The next one has lots more complicated meals, most serve 4. The new one just published is supposed to be “ easy” and use more common storecupboard ingredients.
I have the original book, but none of the following recipe books. Am getting a bit bored now so want to switch it up a bit!

Here are some recipes and a reminder of the benefits in the mail last weekend.
Thank you
i enjoyed these ones from the website and they weren't difficult to make (although I do find I need to cook the onions a lot longer than they suggest!). For the halloumi one I halved the halloumi and the calories were still slightly higher than indicated so do keep an eye on that!

Place marking as I'm starting on Monday!
This week we've had the creamy mustard chicken, simple casserole and last night the cardamom chicken. All from The Fast800 Easy recipe book. All were very nice meals. I can't be doing with cooking different meals for the rest of the family so I bulk theirs out with potatoes, rice, whatever. They are enjoying the meals too.
Steak, chips, mushrooms and tomatoes tonight.
My husband, who is fit healthy weighs less than 11 stone, is really enjoying the meals.
He says the roast cauliflower with turmeric is the best cauliflower he has ever tasted.
minty I’m starting on Monday too. How are you feeling about it?
OP I’m glad I’ve found this thread. Will place mark.
@lozengeoflove
Terrified. I have a very underactive thyroid and 8 - 9 stone to lose, but my self-esteem is on the floor and it's almost entirely connected to my appearance so it's got to be done.
How about you? Are you raring to go or feeling a bit apprehensive
Absolutely the save as you @MintyCedric
Excited to start and lose the pounds. Many, many, many pounds. Am borderline with thyroid issues and have been monitored for under active thyroid for the last 18 months.
I’m so fed up of being nearly twice the size I was before having children!
I'd settle for being the weight I was after giving birth tbh .
In the meantime, tonight's dinner is a fat burger with all the trimmings and chunky chips
Hi @MintyCedric @lozengeoflove I'm only a few weeks in front of you both. Are you both sorted for next week?
Largely...
Have decided to have the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day to make things easier.
11am - 2 x medium eggs - scrambled with a chopped bacon medallion, mushrooms and cherry
tomatoes
2pm - miso soup with sliced spring onions, baby corn, mushrooms and red pepper
6pm - dinner, currently:
Mon - Chicken caesar salad
Tues - Tuna puttanesca with roasted Mediterranean veg
Weds - warm salad of pork fillet with pear, blue cheese and walnuts on spinach and rocket
Thurs - chilli and ginger salmon with stir fried veg
Fri - Bolognese with roast veg (can't stand courgetti)
Sat - Tandoori chicken with salad or a spinach and cauliflower curry
Sun - Roast beef with lots of veg
Not really! Going shopping tomorrow. Have seen the menu for next week and it looks good.
I’m not looking forward to the sugar withdrawal headaches!
Any words of advice @Decidedlydex?
@MintyCedric that's a great idea and your dinners sound lovely.
@lozengeoflove ah, are you on the online programme?
I think my best advice is to go simple, at least for the first few weeks. It's such an adjustment that you need to give yourself the best opportunity for success and you really don't want to have to spend hours and hours cooking (unless that is what you love to do of course)
Also, drink water. More than you ever thought possible. It makes a massive difference, especially with the headaches. The other thing is not to be discouraged if you don't see a loss one week, it seems to be fairly normal to have a week or two of massive loss and then have no loss for a week while your body adjusts.
Thanks so much for the advice, @Decidedlydex
Yes, I’m doing the online programme. The forum community there seems very supportive. I am determined to see it through.
I’m less than a week in, but already my OH is asking when we can eat baked beans again... are any of the low sugar tinned varieties suitable? Or any fast 800 friendly recipes for them?
@TakeMeToKernow there's a recipe for cowboy beans which are pretty good imo. It's in the fast800 recipe book but also is online.
How are you getting on @MintyCedric @lozengeoflove
@Decidedlydex thanks for asking.
I've been great at sticking to it during the day, but the evenings have been a bit hit and miss. Still I'm eating more healthily and recording what I eat which is good I think.
I'll weigh in on Monday and hope for some progress in the right direction.
@MintyCedric sounds like you're making a really good start! It will get easier in the evenings with time, my cravings have definitely popped up less, especially over the last week or two
Cheers!
Meal planned and shopping delivery has arrived for the rest of the week (not necessarily in order):
Tuna puttanesca and roasted veg
Jerk chicken salad
IKEA style meatballs, veg (chunky oven baked chips for DD)
Chicken Ramen Bowl
Korean BBQ Beef Buddha bowl.
Ooh your meal plan sounds lovely! What goes in to your Korean BBQ Buddha bowl?
