Hey,

So... this is month 24 of TTC and I've just invested in a ferti lily! 😂 it's last resort before turning to science!

So long story short, I have 2 DC from a previous relationship. I have been trying for 2 years for another as my new partner doesn't have any and obviously I would love another one. I have had all tests etc and I have been diagnosed with a blood disorder which hopefully will be sorted with Asprin. I have had 2 chemical pregnancies along the way.

DP has low mobility hence trying the ferti lily!

So my question is.. has anyone else been using this?

Hey no success story (yet) but I've used it on some of the occasions we've DTD on this cycle and the last. There was a girl on here a month ago who used it after unsuccessful cycles and got pregnant straight away!

It was one of the new things I did on the cycle I got my bfp!

Use it alongside the conceive plus lube is you lack in cervical mucus (like I do) and also keep your feet warm after ovulation (thick socks and water bottle).

Meant to say - good luck! I had been TTC since July 2019 and got a bfp 6th jan this year.

@MummyT13 I've just bought one but I'm too scared to use it! 🙈 Need to get my act in to gear as I'm due to ovulate tomorrow so running out of time. I think I'm partly afraid that it WILL work because then I'll be so cross with myself that I didn't start using it 10 months ago when we started TTC 🤦‍♀️

@Kitekat81 OMG 😂 I have a fertilily buddy! I'm due to ovulate Friday/Saturday! I've only used mine once as doing 1 day on and one day off DTD until peak and then 3 days in a row. But I will be using mine today! I will warn you... keep the tissues handy 🤣😂

@MummyT13 omg 🙈 Did you have a practise run with it in advance, before it was time to do it 'in the moment'?

Report
hels301990 · 23/02/2021 11:37

Def right about the tissues!! I had a few practices first lol

@hels301990 have you managed to do it without your partner knowing about it? I don't want him to know I'm ovulating as he gets a bit of performance anxiety if he knows it's an 'important day'

Report
hels301990 · 23/02/2021 12:48

Yes lol I have the same issue. I have managed to use it without him knowing but I've had to be quite quick in getting it in and there's still been some leakage lol but I assume it's better than nothing. I've got a tilted uterus so I'm hoping it might help get sperm as close to it as possible...

Report
Kitekat81 · 23/02/2021 13:10

@hels301990 does yours tilt forwards or backwards? I've just found out that mine tilts forwards, but I have no idea if that has any implications for fertility. The doctor who did my scan didn't highlight it as a concern.

@hels301990 @Kitekat81

I don't think I could put it in secretly 😂 but I put it in and then asked the question "you still love me, right?" 🤣😂 bit awkward!

Also with the preseed.. I didn't wanna put it in as soon as I got in bed so we had to stop to insert before DTD! I think the romance has completely gone out of the window!

So.. next thing ladies.. 😉 have you tried orgasming after he has ejaculated as it supposedly contracts the sperm up helping them along. X

@hels301990 yeah it does get messy! I had quite a bit come out and he had rolled over to go to sleep at this point so I was like.. "I will clear up your mess then 😂" x

@MummyT13 lol I stick the preseed 'up there' in the bathroom before I go to bed, so my partner doesn't have to witness that! I think it's fine to put it in a bit early, gets it warmed up! 😂 So it looks like I'm too late to use the ferti-lily this cycle. I boiled it so it's ready to go, but then I was cramping most of yesterday, don't know if it was ovulation cramps or digestive cramps but either way I wasn't really in the mood to dtd, and by the time I went to bed my oh was fast asleep 🙄 I had a temp rise this morning so assume I ov'd yesterday. We dtd in the three days before that so will have to hope that was enough, though not feeling very confident 😣 I think I need to start earlier with the FL and get some practice in next cycle. If you ladies get pregnant this cycle using it I will 100% be using it next cycle!

I'm the same with the lube. I've not tried pressed but using conceive plus and I've put it in before bed in the bathroom - it says can be put in 20mins or so before sex so hoping that's okay!
Used the fertil Lily again this morning - was probably the last opportunity in my fertile window and I still hate the taking it out part lol

I might buy one of these when AF makes her appearance! @MummyT13 we have the same male factor issues. I wonder if this would really help. It's worth a try if it isn't uncomfortable!

I’m collecting mine from the sorting office tomorrow 😄! Weirdly excited to use it. Suppose feel like I’m actively trying to do something after an unsuccessful last year ttc 🙁 🙏🤞

Hey ladies I hope you don't mind me jumping on. I've been looking at this, it makes sense but don't relish the thought of putting it in after 😅 is it like putting in a moon cup?

Report
MummyT13 · 25/02/2021 07:34

@Kitekat81 I have my fingers crossed that it still happens for you this month 🤞🏻 It definitely takes some practice. And you also have to plan DTD early enough so you're not falling asleep while you have it in. 😂 x

@hels301990 I haven't tried conceive plus but preseed is much of the same thing from what I can gather except it gets a bit further up there as they come with long syringe applicators. Feels a bit like self insemination 😂🤣

@wrongendoftheSTIX I have seen good review for it so thought I would give it a go this cycle. Has your OH used the at home sperm test? It’s called Ex seed and give you a video of the sperm and sperm count and mobility count etc and puts you on a program to improve the count?

@SlothMamaToBe 😂 you’ll have to let us know how you get on with it! It can be very messy though so make sure you have some tissues at the ready. I was excited to use mine for the first time. At least it’s reusable for quite a few cycles.

@Jazzabella once you’ve mastered the art of putting it in and getting it to pop then it’ll be okay. 🙈but yeah it is like a moon cut but it just goes further up and acts as a plunger 🪠.

So I put mine in yesterday ladies and turned to me DP and said “it’s so tight in there, I don’t know how you fit” 😂 he then went on to explain to me why it’s shrunk and basically tried to give me a sex Ed lesson! I’ve had 2 DC so I’m pretty sure I get it..... 🙄 x

I will do! My ovulation window starts today 😬. I need to boil it first don’t I to make it sterile?

@SlothMamaToBe yeah that's the best way to do it. Going by my resting heart rate i ovulated today 🤞🏻 so fingers crossed x

Oh wow, exciting guys! I hope it goes well for you both!

@MummyT13 that's interesting. Can you use your resting heart rate to go by as well as BBT?

Report
MummyT13 · 27/02/2021 14:31

@Jazzabella I always notice a change in my RHR the day before ovulation and also there is a dramatic drop in my RHR as soon as my period is due. The 27th was ovulation and 8th was day before AF. It's always the same every month. If you implant then chances are you would also see an implantation dip just like BBT.

However.. I know this is different for everyone as some have health issues that cause the RHR to fluctuate etc and some people don't wear it at night so it doesn't give the most accurate reading but it does however work for me. X
