Hello, I'm 23 and my OH is 27, we have just started our TTC journey this month. I had my coil removed at the very beginning of this month (I'm aware we are trying very soon after) we had a miscarriage last year and it has scared me so much that it could happen again. I've been taking folic acid for around 2 months and have ordered a load of cheap ovulation tests. Does anyone have any advice or are also TTC???

Hey ☺️ We are TTC our first too, I’m 28 and DH is 29. I came off the pill at the end of October. I only ovulated for the first time last month, so it is possible your cycles could be all over the place for a little while. I have found using the ovulation tests really helpful. I know some people track their body temperature to pinpoint ovulation too.

Good luck to you both! Flowers

@MrsB2019x thanks for your reply. Omg I can’t believe that it took so long for you to ovulate! I did an ovulation test today and there was a medium strength line so obviously it was negative but I’m hoping it will get stronger over the next couple of days...
Good luck to you too xx

Yay someone else who is a similar age. I'm 24 and TTC, I've not told anyone that I know other than my best friend who had her son last year at 23. I feel like people will judge me with the whole "don't you want to live your life first? Aren't you a bit young?" Blah blah.

I was on the pill but came off it, onto my second cycle of TTC now. Trying not to overthink it but easier said than done!

@lilcl95 aw that’s so nice. I feel the same... I haven’t told my family but my partners family know and are excited for us. I worry people will make judgements but my OH is quite a bit older and we just feel ready. We are financially stable and have been together for a long time. Everyone feels ready at different times! I have a friends with kids so it would be lonely for them to have a little friend.

This is our first cycle, and I’ve already got my hopes up 🤦🏼‍♀️ Good luck and keep me updated!

@Lulubon hello!! I am also TTC for first baby. I'm 32 and just had my mirena coil removed on 12th February. I have been feeling very nauseous but have done a bit of digging and it can just be a result of having it removed. Good luck on your journey. I have done a few opks, got a medium to strong line today, so hoping I am due to ovulate soon as I have had no periods whilst on coil or since having it removed!

@KrissyMB hi! Oh wow we are in a similar position then. I have been so queasy and was even sick but I don't think I'm pregnant, maybe was due to the coil removal. I've asked others how long it took to conceive after coil removal and it seemed to range between 1-5 months. Fingers crossed we all get our BFP soon x

Hey :) I am also in the same boat and 28 years old. I'm currently waiting for my first natural period since stopping the pill in January. Currently on CD45. I've definitely had a major hormonal imbalance since coming off the pill. Broke out in spots which I never had when on the pill!! Luckily it seems to have calmed down no :)

I'm taking the Boots conception tablets and Omega3.

I avoided OPKs this month as wanted to wait for my first natural period. I have been tracking my temperature though... on the mornings I remember!

Did you ovulate in the end @Lulubon?

Good luck to everyone x

@LuluHeidi hey! I have deffo experienced a change hormonally since having the coil out. I continued to do OPK throughout the month but never had a positive it just got weaker and weaker. I think I must have ovulated before I started testing if I did. I'm considering taking some pre-pregnancy vitamins like the pregnacare ones but not sure atm as I'm taking folic acid calcium and magnesium when I remember. Keep me updated!

Hi! I'm 25 and totally understand the reluctance to talk about TTC for fear of being judged - had quite a lot of "but you're so young, think of your career" when I got married last year Confused tbh I'm a little concerned that if I do fall quickly then I might get some less-than-positive reactions to a pregnancy announcement, but probably I'm overthinking things, haha.

Will probably be a little while before I do fall though as only took my last pill yesterday! Gonna wait for a few natural periods before I start tracking and things as I know it can take time for things to settle down

@LuluHeidi oh dear, I had pretty bad acne in my teen years and it only fully cleared up after I started the pill, hope I'm not in for a resurgence!

Good luck to everyone here xx

@CoalCraft hey! I totally understand the pain. I'm really anxious about the pregnancy announcement and the responses... mainly from my side of the family. But what I tell myself is that if we are ready and are completely self dependent then it doesn't affect anyone so they can't really say much Confused good luck! Keep me updated.
I've just done an OPK and it's was the darkest I've had almost as dark as the control line. Very strange, not sure where AF is but looks like I may ovulate within the next couple of days Shock

@Lulubon Nothing to report here! I’m not convinced I ovulated this month tbh, I had a halfway-to-positive OPK just over a week ago and then it went blank the next day, so I’m not sure. Due AF this weekend but I really think we are out this month. How are you doing?! x

Lulubon · 03/03/2020 23:39

@MrsB2019x oh no! Maybe you did but didn't catch it on the OPK. It said a to do it twice a day as the window can be super short! Fingers crossed for you. ive not got much of an update no AF but a nearly positive OPK today which is very strange. Not sure what's going on really x

@Lulubon I think that's absolutely the right thing to tell yourself. I keep reminding myself that it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, and I do know that once they get used to the idea they'll be supportive, it's just getting through that first reaction. Probably doesn't help that throughout my teens I was basically baby-phobic and wouldn't even hold them, and I think that's how people still picture me lol

But no matter what you'll be over the moon when you get that bfp and that's what counts X

Am not really expecting anything to happen my end for a little while as body settles down from pill, but will keep you updated. All this is new to me so still learning about OPKs, but I'm crossing my fingers for you and following the thread with interest x

@CoalCraft yeah exactly! I feel the exact same way. The main thing is that we will be happy!
I guess you can just take it slow and at your own pace and tbh I think that's the best way to be. I've put some pressure on myself because we want it so bad but I think we need to chill and just let what will be to be... x

@Lulubon I ran out of OPK tests so I had to rely on ovulation pain this cycle. Pretty sure I'm 7DPO going off the pain, but I'm convinced I'm out this month. Me and OH DTD the day before I ovulated but there was too much pressure on the actual day so he couldn't finish the job if you get me 😂 I know they say it's better to DTD the day before but I just have a feeling it's not our month and I got the pain on the evening so that's a solid 24 hours between DTD and ovulation. Who knows!

@ Yaaaay that's good news! My dark OPK must have been a dud because doesn't seem to be barely visible today. No af either. I'm getting impatient 😅

@KrissyMB thank you! I did about a week ago, accepted it was a no this cycle then randomly took one today because I've have really sore boobs and have woke up with a funny taste in my mouth for around a week... I never thought I actually ovulated. Good luck, I'm sure it won't take long! X

@Geepipe Hey, I’ve been so worried since the last miscarriage but I’ve just left this one in the hands of fate. I think just thinking ‘what will be will be’ has helped me to this point. Good luck! X
