It's for a clinical position on a children's ward. I've not interviewed in person for a long time!! Is this professional enough?

To wear this for an interview?

I'm a mental health nurse and that would be appropriate to interview for any job I have ever been for.

It's very nice op 😊 fine for an interview in my opinion if slightly wasted on one 😂

I wouldn't, the pattern is very dominant. If it was plainer or smaller pattern I think it would be ok

It's lovely but I guess it could be considered a bit too dressy?

What will you wear it with?

Lovely dress but would think it more suited to a wedding or Christening, sorry. Do you have anything else?

Thats really nice.
Where is it from Op?

I personally wouldn't. It's a gorgeous dress but better suited for a wedding, not a professional appointment.

@notacooldad little wings factory it's actually lovely quality

Much too "glam" for an interview. IMO of course.

Does the skirt have netting? That might make it a bit poofy and a bit much for something as staid as an interview. Lovely dress though.

Hmm might have to rethink this

I love it! I'm in a clinical role and have interviewed loads of people for various positions. Wouldn't put me off OP!

It’s lovely but not for an interview, it’s too dressy and more suited to a wedding, I think you will feel overdressed.

I love it, black jacket or cardi over it would tone it down, good luck on your interview

It’s lovely but a bit too much. I airways do wear one thing to stand out. Such as a bright top etc. I feel when they are discussing candidates if someone says ‘what one was that?’ The response would hopefully be ‘ the woman with the purple/red/bright pink blouse’ makes you easily memorable.

Could you wear a cardi over it to tone down the print?

I think it's nice but as pp said more for a wedding. Do you have anything plainer?

You want them to remember you, not the dress

Personally I think it's a little OTT for an interview. I really like it as a dress though!

Is the interview f2f or in person? As long as it wasn’t low cut I would say it was fine. I’ve interviewed lots and they wouldn’t put me off at all. I would suggest not high shoes if it’s f2f to stop it being too dressy. It’s better to make the effort than look like you’ve rolled out of bed!

Lovely dress but not for an interview OP. Good luck!

NHS interviews are all score based so it won't make any difference but it's really not an interview dress and if I were on the panel (I often sit on NHS recruitment panels) I would wonder about your judgement in choosing it as it's not appropriate.

It's a no from me. Lovely dress but it's not the right one for this.

Lovely dress - but interview - errr no. Unless you have a dark jacket that covers most of it.

Small/no pattern dress with jacket or smart cardigan or blouse/jacket.

You want them to take you seriously and listen to what you say, a loud pattern will distract from that.

MrsGarethSouthgate
Thank you!
That is just my style! I'm tempted to get it.

As for an interview you should wear it IF you feel 100% confident in it but tone it down with a black shrug as others have suggested.
Its not a corporate interview so , personally, I think it would be fine. I have worn similar to local authority interviews and got the positions.
