It is seriously disgustign that people still think this is okay. It is not okay. what message does it steach the child? (its okay to hit someone if they dont do what you tell them?)

and for an adult who is physically so much bigger and stronger to hit a child? omg, serioulsy peopl wake the fuck up... it is NOT OKAY!

at dabbles!!!!!!!

I agree with you BTW re the whole smacking children thing.
But theres no need for that, everyone has their own way of doing things and their own opinion on things and to say such a horrible thing to someone expresing their opinion is disgusting.

If you want a reasond debate then fair enough but you are not going to get it saying things like that.

LOL at Anwe, I'm a relative newbie, is this where we all don the hard hats and buckle up?

I've got giant pretzels if anyone wants any.

Dabbles, you are exaggerating for just for effect with that example.

You also said on the other thread that smacking at home leads to children hitting and smacking others at school.

Do you have any direct experience or proof of this?

dabbles, read the original thread and quote properly.

You are exaggerating again.

nutcracker · 18/08/2007 20:52

Oh don't think I saw that, but lately I am both so anyway.

I do smack, very very rarely but yep I do, and did infact smack Dd2 today.

No am not proud of it at all but if I am totally honest, it is the very least of my worries at the mo.

There is no difference dabbles and let me reiterate my post to you, I agree with you regarding the whole smacking of children, I dont think it is right in the slightest, but for you to say and I quote,

Lil - I do hoep the next time u decide not to make your dp/dh a cuppa when he asks for one he gives you a good hard smack.... and see how u like it...

Is totaly out of line. How can you say you are against smacking kids but you use the argument of domestic violence to try and get your point accross.
