DP being gifted £300k as FTB

In a fairly new relationship (1 year) and DP early 30s is house hunting and wants my input. Just found out his budget - he is a FTB, London-based with a 300k deposit. Genuinely gobsmacked.

And, what is the problem? He is buying himself a house with a humongous deposit. You aren't a solid couple yet but he is excited enough to ask for your input.
