Providing you are able bodied obviously

blondiebonce Fri 27-Oct-17 20:07:00

YABU. Working 5 days a week and tidying up around a 3 year old is like pissing into the wind.

I could keep my home spotless. But frankly I've got other shit to do that's way more fun, so I'll happily settle for a 'fuck It, that'll do' approach grin

PovertyPain Fri 27-Oct-17 20:07:50

What ever helps make you feel superior, OP. 🙄

Neapolitanicecream Fri 27-Oct-17 20:07:56

What's your routine oh well ?

pigsknickers Fri 27-Oct-17 20:08:13

No it's not it's an endless fucking battle (1&3 year olds and a hairy dog)

Farontothemaddingcrowd Fri 27-Oct-17 20:08:34

I love that description Blondie.
I don't have a 3 year old but I have 3 older kids and it's a nightmare. Depends on your priorities I suppose, but as a single parent who works full time, I have to accept that things slide.

Morello444 Fri 27-Oct-17 20:08:53

Depends how many children you have, how many hours you work, whether you're a single parent or in a dual parent family. YABU its not easy when ur a single mum of 4 kids and work 4 days a week.

PovertyPain Fri 27-Oct-17 20:09:17

like pissing into the wind
If you try that, you're going to have a really messy house. 😆

AssassinatedBeauty Fri 27-Oct-17 20:09:23

Why do you care? Are you judging anyone who doesn't?

PurpleDaisies Fri 27-Oct-17 20:09:45

It might be easy for you to keep your house clean. You’d have to feel pretty lacking in imagination to think that everyone is in the same circumstances as you.

MaidOfStars Fri 27-Oct-17 20:09:53

I'm able bodied.
I don't have kids.
I'm pretty relaxed about the state of my plughole, thanks.

whiteroseredrose Fri 27-Oct-17 20:10:04

I'd say tedious rather than easy.

PolkaDottyRose Fri 27-Oct-17 20:10:27

Some days it's easy, some days it's not. Much like the rest of life.

megletthesecond Fri 27-Oct-17 20:10:55

Yabu. And I call reverse.

I can't keep mine clean because the dc's make more mess than I can clear up and I have to close the door on a bomb site every morning. It was tidy during my last maternity leave 8 years ago though. I was looking at the photos yesterday sad.

mumonashoestring Fri 27-Oct-17 20:10:58

Well yes, I mean anything's easy if all you have to do is wang on about it on an internet forum to a bunch of strangers who have no idea what your lifestyle is, what your house looks like and how high/low your standards are...

shivermytimbers Fri 27-Oct-17 20:10:59

tedious is indeed the word whiterose!

TheLiars Fri 27-Oct-17 20:11:21

Has someone said it's not easy?

buttonmoonb4tea Fri 27-Oct-17 20:11:29

And also depending on how many free hours you have in a day. Also depending on how many children there are living in the house who undo all your efforts to keep things clean and tidy like my DC

IN FACT my DC just emptied a pack of crisps on the kitchen floor whilst writing this post.

Have a biscuit OP. Please be honoured, it's my first.

Nanna50 Fri 27-Oct-17 20:12:27

Too many variables to answer such a basic statement ... It also depends what you call clean

WiccanWonder Fri 27-Oct-17 20:12:47

I have fiancé that plays warhammer, little figures and paint pots every where. And a son who believes that cleanliness is for wimps!

I feel like I'm trying to brush my teeth while eating an Oreo.

MaidOfStars Fri 27-Oct-17 20:12:49

Yes, tedious. Cleaning is boring. And I've never once thought 'Ooh, you know what I'd like on my headstone - 'She kept a lovely house' '

Bollocks to that.

U2HasTheEdge Fri 27-Oct-17 20:13:02

7 of us here, with two dogs and other beasts. I work and study as well. So no, we don't find it particularly easy. My house is always kept to a certain standard, dishes done as soon as they are finished with, kitchen and bathroom always decent.

It's lived in and at the moment with it being half term it's a bit of a mess and I have no shits to give. I could have a lovely tidy and spotlessly clean home if I didn't prefer doing other fun things in my spare time.

Absolutely, Sir Goad of Grand Goadia.
