To take some proper coffee to playgroup?

I go to only playgroup each week. It is on a monday morning and starts at 9:15. I usually drop ds off at school and head straight there with dd.
Most monday mornings are a bit manic and a lot of the time I find myself getting to playgroup having not yet had a brew of any sort.
I could really do with a coffee at that point.
The coffee they have is cheap shite nescafe instant stuff. It's horrible.
Wibu to either take my own proper coffee & cafetiere, which I don't mi d sharing as a little goes a long way. Or atleast take a decent instant coffee, which I won't want to share!

What 'type' of mum bracket would you put me in at your playgroup?

Can't you just pick up a coffee like Costa on the way? Would look less odd!

You can buy empty teabags from Ebay, put your own tea or coffee in them and buy hot water.

Bringing a Starbucks takeaway is one thing. But ostentatiously setting up your own little cafetière would make you look a right loola, in my book.
However much you're happy to share.

I live in an area which has a cluster of villages. The closest Costa is 45mins away.
everyoneelsie I'll take a look, but that might be a bit too much organising for me!

So do you reckon I could just have a decent instant in my bag/car and kind of inconspicuosly (sp?) use that?!

We have days like this and I make decent coffee at home and bring it in a decent thermos mug. I've never noticed anyone paying the slightest bit of attention and it stays hot for hours

I drink black tea and take my own teabag, I've come across a few people who do this and I've never heard anyone comment, accept for the type of person who always finds something to comment about (and they've been quickly shut up).

Just take your own decent instant. My DD did, to the Children's Centre, it was appreciated. Not a Cafetière, though.

Life is hard and hectic enough without a decent brew.

I probably would think you were a bit 'that mum' if you did that, but also wouldn't be at all bothered about you doing it, especially if you were making it available to everyone.

Could you not turn up with an 'old' cafetière that you 'found' at the back of your cupboard and wish to kindly donate to the group, and you might as well bring some of the coffee you've got 'lying around'. You'll probably end up funding the provision of good coffee for the group but if that's a price you're willing to pay then fair enough.

Yes a thermos mug would work. Although a lot of the time I forget to make a coffee in the morn, rather than not have the time to drink it!

Horrible coffee is horrible. Can you not ask whoever organises the drinks to at least buy a decent instant, and charge 20p a cup if they need to? I'm sure you're not the only person who doesn't enjoy mellow birds, or whatever they're serving.

Years of living abroad and I can't touch instant coffee now. Yuk! Not to mention the fact that I boycott Nestlé.
Life is too short to drink shit coffee. I'd just grin if I saw you there with a cafetiere.
