does it bother you that men use this site also?

Sometimes very female skewed things are discussed and I can't help feeling slightly uncomfortable when I read: "Male perspective here..."

I'm sure I am BU but does anyone else feel the same? I am struggling to put into words why it bothers me but it does.

This crops up every now and then. None of us exists in a bubble. YABU.

No it doesn't bother me. But I'm a woman with no children so not a parent.

Lots of people here though. Men, grandparents, women without children, and never intend to have any. It's so much more than a parenting forum.

YABU.

It absolutely bothers me when someone starts a post like this.

I would expect to be allowed on to a "men's site", so I don't see why men can't come here.

yabu it's just another human being who happens to have a penis. As long as you aren't a spoonyfucker, i don't think it matters. Hth.

No. It isn't necessary always for posters to announce their gender either.

Doesn't bother me.

Apart from the goady MRA fuckers from 4chan and Reddit. They bother me.

It's a free site that anyone can join, so no, I'm happy for any reasonable person to post and comment regardless of gender.

Why on earth would it bother you? You have no idea who or what anyone is on an anonymous forum anyway. Nor does it particularly matter.

As long as they don't start mansplaining can't see what difference it makes.

Last I saw, the tag for the site says 'for parents' (and even then, plenty here don't seem to have had children). It's not just for women, you are totally unreasonable. If it makes you feel so uncomfortable, I'm sure there is a 'for ladies only' site out there for you.

Stuff that doesn't annoy: Men being on here and commenting. There are some fab male posters here.

Stuff that does annoy me: Men writing, "I know I'll get destroyed on here..." fuck off then; men coming onto a thread behaving like their testicles mean their opinion is worth more; men who are MRAs or fuckwits trolling; women giving cookies when men behave in a decent way, "oh you are soooo wonderful looking after your own children sometimes". Oh and anyone saying, "Ladies...".

It depends what they are posting about, and if they announce they are a man.

TBF though if they don't have a NN that proclaims man/Dad or some such we wouldn't know anyway.

If you don't want to read the 'man here' perspective just skip over the post.

I'm a bloke, if you don't like the fact that men can post here then YABU.

I'm a man.
If Mumsnet tried to ban men I think some men, not me, would join pretending to be female. It is a good site and it is good to be inclusive.

Not a problem at all

Why should it be?
