Inspired by another thread..

if you designed the Mother's Day Aisle in the local supermarket, what would be in it?

Good quality alcohol, not twee little bottles or alcopoppy type drinks.

Good quality flowers, not mixed bunches of xanthes.

Books: literary novels, coffee table books, unusual cookery books.

DVD box sets: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad etc.

Gin, and assorted other alcoholic beverages, tea, vouchers for uninterrupted sleep for anything up to 12 hours, House Elves, masseurs, puppies and/or kittens to borrow for snuggles then give back to their owners later (for those of us who couldn't cope with actually having one full time but wish we could), chocolate, bacon, and remote controls that work on children Grin

Lots of lovely handmade bits from the kids, a bottle of plonk and a dvd.

They can't put cuddles on an aisle though....

Good thread!

Definitely books - a proper range of them. And music too, of various types. As I said on the other thread, some good quality drinking glasses would be greatly appreciated. Nice red wine, interesting jewellery, and I love the idea of the sleep voucher.

What Nursey said. And immunity from formulaic 'have a cup of tea and put your feet up (hollow laugh)' cards made at school.

Not flowers, my dh buys me flowers every sat (off a flower stall, before that sounds flash).

It would be books I would love.

The complete box set of Sherlock.
Knockout drops for the kids (actually chloroform and a rag would do nicely right now.)
If not something to make the kids sleep, someone to take them away for a day so I can sleep.

Proper American Cheetos, paperback books, itunes vouchers...

But I know I'm going to get an amazing card from 4yo DD. She's been working on it at preschool for weeks, I bet the glitter will be an inch thick.

Something that the kids can carry upstairs with breakfast in bed in, that means the tea doesn't soak the toast and the food stays hot.

A way of stopping DS2 waking 7 times a night. And one antisocial day spent entirely on my own. And a delicious 3 course meal. But mainly the baby sleep cure. Please.
