It was amazing

Couldn't do the pretzel type poses but managed most of it.

Sounds wonderful. Much better than the 1-hour "aerial yoga" I did today, swinging like a chandelier.

What kind of pretzel poses?

We did 'series 1' of the ashtanga series.

Some of this involved sitting down and threading arms under knees and binding them round your back.

It was great to have two hours to really go through it all.
I also used blocks for some of the poses especially for hamstrings.

But so pleased I got through it!

Aerial yoga sounds wild Confused

I have never been able to do a single bind, ever. Pretzel sounds about right, actually Smile

I didn't enjoy aerial yoga nearly as much as I thought I would, tbh.

I'd love to be bendy enough to work my way through the ashtanga primary series. I have just restarted ashtanga at my gym, it's a one hour class and by the end I'm absolute exhausted so I'm sure I wouldn't manage 2 hours!

I thought I wouldn't get through it but actually the last hour is floor exercises.

I found using blocks really helpful in getting hips into the correct position.

Some of the standing exercises where you raise your knee and hook onto your toes before stretching your leg out to the side - that was a challenge too far. I just stood on one leg grasping my knee and trying not to fall over!

Some of the others in the class are amazing - I watched a fairly chunky grey haired gentleman do an effortless headstand!

That standing pose is actually one of the easier ones for me. On the other hand, I have never been able to do a bind or get hands anywhere near touching in cow face pose. We are all built differently! Smile
