Yoga clothes! (Come on, you know you want to :-)

So, where do we like to shop for yoga clothes? Personally, I need the top to cover my midsection which otherwise 'muffins' & flops around most unattractively and shorts are better when not too short, but otherwise can wear anything.

Has anyone tried doing yoga with those harem pants?

Shock Absorber bras are great for running. They keep the girls plastered to my chest & nobody is going anywhere Grin

I need something softer and less constricting for yoga, though.

I don't mind spending money on yoga clothes because I wear them all the time now. Love the colourful racerback bras showing under racerback tops and showing off my newly-slimmed upper arms. I'm wearing them now Grin

I don't think there is an Onzie shop per se, I think they're mainly in Australia and online, however my new local yoga studio sells Onzie clothes. I haven't actually moved to the area yet (am tomorrow!) so haven't had a feel yet.

The Sweaty Betty online store doesn't have my very fabulous all in one right now, though I most definitely saw it in the window display in the Tunbridge Wells store on 2 July.

Purple I found rock climbing meant that when I took up yoga,I really love the balance poses.
Climbing was definitely where I found the ability to balance.
(And,funnily enough,photography and shooting)

CoteDAzur · 16/07/2015 22:44

How interesting. I wouldn't have immediately thought of photography and shooting as disciplines directly affected by balance but of course they are.

I didn't realise it till I knew it iyswim, CoteDAzur !

MarvinKMooney · 21/07/2015 14:54

I like the kit from Manuka. It's quite expensive full price, but I've seen their stuff on tk maxx every now and then. There's also a half price sale on their website right now, and in John lewis. Just picked up a top for £24 - certainly wouldn't have paid over £40 for it Shock

maybemyrtle · 21/07/2015 19:05

Bonsoir when I read about your all in one I was a bit Hmm but the more I think about it, it's genius. I like loose-ish stuff on my top half but as soon as I go into the first down dog of a class I regret it. I want an all in one!

Is it this?

KittyB52 · 23/07/2015 11:26

Has anyone tried H&M sportswear? I know their delivery takes aaages but they had a few things that looked OK.

I don't want to buy expensive stuff yet as I am 'between sizes' and wanting to lose some weight.

I have found a few things on Zalando which I've ordered - not in pink/grey/black either, which is refreshing.

I love these - they are a nice colour and look really comfy: www.zalando.co.uk/venice-beach-firenze-3-4-sports-trousers-falcon-2ve41e01a-b11.html

These are funky too: www.zalando.co.uk/prana-tights-fuchsia-ibiza-pf641e005-j11.html

I am going to look for a decent sports bra that ideally isn't 'pull on' as I nearly dislocate a shoulder getting into my current one. Blush The lovely strappy ones look a tad flimsy for my girls though - I suspect I need medium-firm support.

Or I can just hope that through yoga, my flexibility improves enough so I don't get trapped getting in or out of my foundation garments. Grin

CoteDAzur · 23/07/2015 14:18

I quite like those funky tights!

Lululemon and Sweaty Betty for me. I always ask for vouchers for my birthday as their stuff is expensive but really well made and lasts for ages. If you have any problems they are quick to rectifiy.

CoteDAzur · 23/07/2015 14:40

I heart Lululemon and have a bit of an addiction to their stuff, especially now that I wear yoga clothes everywhere. I check out their website every Tuesday evening, because that is when they add new products/colors to their 'We made too much' sale page Blush

I love wearing racerback tops now that my arms have toned quite a bit and my back has straightened considerably Grin

I'll have to try some clothes in a Sweaty Betty shop next time I'm in London. Without some idea re sizes, I'm reluctant to order online.

I am rather obsessed with Fabletics at the moment, as they do really nice colours and interesting prints. Admittedly I use them for running and climbing outfits, rather than yoga, but they do have loads to try out and your first outfit is only £22 or something, so a pretty good deal! Grin

I love brightly coloured workout clothes and gear that isn't pink.

My Sweaty Betty running sports bra is my favourite though, for the sheer tightness with which it holds me together Grin

CoteDAzur · 23/07/2015 15:02

Ooh that Fabletics website can be dangerous! I did not need a new website to get addicted to

Sad to say that I won't be taking advantage of that "first outfit for £22" offer, though, because that offer is valid for only the first hour after you create your account there!

I have been looking out for Onsie and Lululemon over the last week or so and am proud to say I can report back. Onsie is sold at my yoga place and worn by quite a few of the instructors which seems as good a recommendation as you can get! The fabric feels quite thin and it is pricey though.

I noticed there is a massive Lululemon shop on the kings road and the sheer diversity of stuff is mind boggling. It seems like nice quality stuff.

Very thankfully I don't need to buy anything now and don't have the spare cash. However I know where I'm going when I'm feeling a bit more flush!

I've got quite a lot of sports kit from H and M kitty. I really like it. Cheap but nice quality and the leggings pass the downward dog test.

Interesting about rock climbing thatbloodywoman. I've always fancied it but never been. Perhaps I'll take myself off for a date with a climbing wall.

maybemyrtle · 23/07/2015 17:07

I didn't realise that Lululemon had a UK website! And free shipping and returns! Oh my, this could be dangerous...

CoteDAzur · 24/07/2015 14:39

Delivery & returns are also free on Lululemon's EU site. It's terrible. Also terrible is their habit of introducing fantastic new colors on all the lovely clothes that I have bought from them over the years. Sometimes the temptation is Just Too Much.

OP posts:
sunshinerunner · 25/07/2015 18:09

It's such good quality too.

KittyB52 · 24/08/2015 08:12

I am a yoga newbie and have 'issues' with touching my feet. When we have to interweave our fingers between toes to move the foot about, I feel queasy (and I can't get my fingers between all my toes anyway, as my toes lock up). I can't spread my toes at all, my brain frantically sends messages to the feet but my toes be all like 'nah-UH'. I'm working on it. Grin

So, my question is - are there such things are yoga socks that don't separate toes in that shudder-inducing way? I need something to keep my feet warm, but can't use socks with separate toes because yuck. Even the 'toeless' ones appear to have separate toe holes. [vom-oticon]

CoteDAzur · 24/08/2015 12:07

How interesting Grin I don't wear socks for yoga but I've seen others wear these Lululemon socks. They don't separate toes and have sticky dots on soles. Does that help?
