Hi to any legal eagle out there

My employer has told me that from 01 Aug my hours will be reduced from 24 to 20 .He intends to employ a Pa with the saving on my salary. My question: is there a breach of my contract? there is no flexibility clause in my contract stating that hours can be reduced to respond to business need. I have taken the reduction badly as I feel it is personal and maybe sexist as I am the only female staff member and th e only part time member of staff .In addition the other male staff have private health care and pensions. Is this legal or could it be discrimination?

Victoriah3 you already asked this a few weeks ago. Advice remains the same, he can't reduce your hours without your consent, you need to write to him formally refusing to consent to the change. There's nothing indicating that his attempt to change your terms and conditions is sexist though.

If all other members of staff have benefits you don't have, then you should challenge that. Are any of them doing similar jobs/on a similar level so that you have a comparison?

You need to formally refuse your consent in writing, then see what he does. If he tries to force it through, dismisses you or similar, you may possibly then have some kind of case.
