Hi I am hoping the collective wisdom of Mumsnet can help. My company 2 months ago changed to electronic payslips you download yourself and print off. I have applied for a mortgage extension. I got payroll to print my slip and sign it but the mortgage company have refused it saying it is not an original. aghh help. Can I try to force my company to give me a proper paper one?

I think that your P60 (year end summary) needs to be provided to you as hard copy. Would this with the email pay statements suffice for the bank.

Thanks for prompt response.I could ask. I have however got a pay raise since P60 was produced and it is on this new amount I am trying to raise extra mortgage.

We started doing this at the beginning of the year, I think it's the beginning of a more widespread trend to 'paperless' everything. The mortgage companies are going to have to get used to it! I submitted three to the Student Loans people and haven't crosses fingers had a problem so far - they were OK with it on the phone, so they seem to have accepted them as 'proper' payslips.

Most mortgage compnies will accept printed statements along with a letter from your company on letterhead confirming the salary. Have you tried that.

Seriously, I'd push back on the mortgage company. Lots of companies are doing this now (including Lloyds/HBOS for example)...

We have recently started doing this & were told that we could have paper copies for mortgage applications or if we were on maternity leave or otherwise away from the workplace.
