Just got email agreeing I can reduce my hours until am ready to increase them up to original level. I'm sooooo happy! Means I can work without ds going to nursery until he's older.

LOL! Thanks, Dinny!

REALLY pleased - fantastic news! Had seen you were on the rota for the new hours later on this week (is that right - if it's not, it might be next week as I was looking re my hours and get easily confused!) - so I had wondered.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Which days will you be working then? Will I see you?!

dinny · 09/08/2005 23:27

ooh, am I? think will start this Friday...so i'll only see you on Sunday, I think??

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 09/08/2005 23:30

Yes, Sundays. Think I'll stay doing Sundays till I go on mat leave - am sure they won't say no to that! Can't face leaving DS in a nursery.

He had his scan yesterday - was horrible But they think he's OK - yay!

dinny · 09/08/2005 23:32

Excellent news. Was it terrible? Did you hold him or did dh?

We aren't popular on Xmas thread...

MrsGordonRamsay · 09/08/2005 23:38

It did, and I appear to have been Mrs Evil, only had two opinions, but that was enough

dinny · 09/08/2005 23:38

I held him while they put the line in on the children's ward (went into his hand, then his elbow as couldn't get it into his hand), then DH held him while he had the radioactive dye injected - I couldn't cos of the baby. I stood outside the room and cried instead - my brave boy!

Couldn't cuddle him all day Would rather have given birth to him again, I think

MGR

MrsGordonRamsay · 09/08/2005 23:40

HM

WTF have I missed ??

Is X Ok ??

dinny · 09/08/2005 23:42

oh, horrific. what a brave boy. so did they get line in on 2nd attempt?

OP posts:
MrsGordonRamsay · 09/08/2005 23:43

BTW

don't post on C4 it has gone nicely quiet.

hunkermunker · 09/08/2005 23:46

He had a kidney scan - DMSA examination - because he's had one definite and one suspected but probably UTI. He's fine, just was v confused yesterday. Kept reaching out to whichever parent wasn't holding him while the nurses did horrible things to him

And they splinted his elbow so he couldn't disturb the line on the way up to nuclear medicine - and it meant he couldn't suck his fingers, so he was really upset

MrsGordonRamsay · 09/08/2005 23:48

Aw the poor baba boy

(((((((((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))))))))

dinny · 09/08/2005 23:48

oh, and not even be able to comfort himself....

still am sure it's all forgotten now. xxxx

hunkermunker · 09/08/2005 23:51

Did make me snurk a bit though when they said he could have his bottle of milk while he was being scanned... I felt like saying, "Do you know who I am?! I'm Hunkermunker and my boy drinks from my breasts, as nature intended!"

I didn't though, I'm not a total loony

It was hard - would not like to do that again. Am in awe of people who have to get used to children's wards

dinny · 09/08/2005 23:52

PMSL, wish you'd say it, you loon!

Makes you feel so lucky to be able to go home, doesn't it?

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 09/08/2005 23:54

I did say that it wouldn't really be practical as he didn't have a bottle, I breastfed him - I do make a point of mentioning this to health professionals where possible (probably verge on loon often, but who cares?!).
