Has anyone ever had a Book People Franchise?

Hello

I posted this a while ago in chat but only one response, thought I'd try here.

So, has anyone ever had a Book People franchise or know anyone who has? We're thinking of it but I'd like to hear others' stories first if possible.

Thank you

I've just started Usborne less than a month ago (with a week of holiday in that time as well) and I have already made £75 clear profit, as well as getting £250 worth of free kids books and I have no obligation to carry on if I don't want to, I would get to keep the books for my own children (with the ones where you get the kit for free you usually are only leasing it and have to pay a weekly fee and give it back if you stop). I have enough parties booked to make around £250 profit over the next four weeks and I am on track to get my joining fee refunded, another £65 of free books and to reach Team Leader status by the end of August, at which point I will get a £200 bonus and better commission rates and so on.

They ask for £38 to start off, but you get over £100 worth of free books and stationery for that-I orginally joined because I wanted to get quite a few books in for my own kids and I had my eye on the discount! I planned to just join, order the books I needed and then just put in the odd order for friends, but as soon as I told people I was doing Usborne, they wanted parties and to order!

I have a 3yo and a 7mo (who is very clingy and comes to every event I run-the three year old comes to some) and I don't drive-i just put my kit under the pram as people can order from the full catalogue of books right up to teenage, so the kit is just as examples really.

The commission payments for the higher-ups have just gone through, they are all making really good livings out of it and are really happy, as you get further up it is more about looking after your team than actually doing events, although they do seem to each do two a week or so. Obviously you have to do it for a while and you get out what you put in, but I asked this afternoon what the Group and Divison Leaders make a month (the next two grades above team leader) and the first two replies were £3208 and £1705- and that is on top of the commission they will have earned on thier own sales! It has certainly made me focus, and, barring anything odd happening, I expect to be promoted for the first time by the end of August.

With team based things like this, it really is vital what team you end up in, if you get one that isn't very enthusiastic they won't help you as much.
