Party plan Toys - do you make any money

I'm thinking of becoming an agent for party plan/catalogue toys. The toys look lovely (wooden, traditional etc) but I'm just wondering whether anybody makes any money outside October - December.

Do people actually want to all get together and buy toys for their kids, or would they rather something for themselves (Body shop / pampered chef etc)?

Do you sell toys? If so, how much do you make per party (if it's not a personal question).

My always looking for the positive sister thinks I would be better shelf stacking at Tesco

Hiya, I don't sell toys I am a Jamie at Home rep, but I have met quite a few of the wooden toy companies on my travels/events. I have also been to a toy party and I personally spent about £25 and there was 10 of us who all seemed to spend around the same, not sure what % you get with the company you are looking at, but if its 20% then that would have been about £50 for the party, but with all parties you get good and bad...

If they have lots of pocket money toys, then I think you would do well at school fetes etc through out the summer to. Do you have much initial outlay or do you just buy stock at a reduced rate, anyway whatever you decide good luck and if you want to chat about party plan in general, i have been doing it for almost a year now so just ask.

Opps I missed this bit;

"Do people actually want to all get together and buy toys for their kids, or would they rather something for themselves (Body shop / pampered chef etc)? "

I think people always have another birthday coming up, so can always buy something, but whether they do is another matter, I have done parties where only 2 out of 14 people spent any money, then others where there are only a few people but there spend was huge... I think its worth weighing up what you have to loose, can you recoup your initial outlay if there is any, within a couple of parties, I recouped my kit fee after my first 2 parties, so had nothing to loose and have now gained some people bits for the home, do you have kids, could you benefit from the products in that respect ?
