Have been advised to repost this here.

Right, brief background for those that don't know. I am a single mum of 3 not working but desperate to get a job and a life lol.

About a month ago I applied for a housekeeping position at a hospital. It was fulltime which is more hours than I want but beggars can't be choosers. They have just emailed offering me an interview.

Then two days ago two jobs came up at the same hospital one for clinical support worker and one for clinical support worker/housekeeper which is what I would prefer to do. They were both 30 hours and I applied for both, but it will be a good 3/4 weeks until I know if I have been offered an interview.

I am really pleased to have been offered the interview for the first one, but what if I get offered it and accept and then find out that I could have been interviewed for the preffered CSW posts ??

i saw the other thread. one step at a time - go for the interview.

as you say beggars can't be choosers, and you have an oppertunity for employment which, imo is the goal here considering your circumstances.

once you are in employment it is easier to get another job - once you are in employment at this place and can show them your skills, good timekeeping and reliability, should another post come up you could them apply for that. but i do think it would be spectacularly foolish to wait 'just in case' you get an interview for one of the other jobs. It really would be self sabotage

Yes i do agree with you and that is why I applied, to get my foot in the door.

I think my main concern is wether I could cope with fulltime tbh.

well if that is the real root of the problem you should phone and decline the interview and not apply for full time posts.

whatever way you decide

good luck
