Has anyone come across a train service who operate a part-time season ticket?

Hi there

Someone asked me this today and I said I hadn't come across anything like this, but I knew some women who might.

So has anyone found a rail company who offer an annual season ticket for commuters who want to work flexibly?

No our local doesn't. They give pregnant women the right to sit in first class if cattle class is full (which it usually is) if they have an annual season ticket but women who work part-time and thus don't have a season ticket are not allowed into first class (unless they pay obv)

Well I found this one on ScotRail - it's a Flexipass ticket 'Ideal if you only travel a few times each week for commuting or business meetings. Enables you to purchase a number of journeys in advance.
You can choose when you want to use them over the period of validity.'
So I suppose other train companies must do them.

Hi there
I THINK you can get off peak season tickets on First Great Western

First Capital Connect do things called Carnets where you buy 10 single tickets for the price of nine. You can get peak or off-peak ones and they are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase - quite useful if you're part-time (though you don't save as large a %age as a full-time season ticket).
