Redundancy /relocation

Not that I am in that position, or at least not yet, but with re-sturcturing and "almagamating" departments between London office and Birmigham office, I was wondering if our department was "almagameting" (I don't know if it is correct) I could be offer relocating. If I didn't want relocating, will my employers would have to pay me redundancy, or because they had offered me a job, even thought I would have to relocate, by no accepting it, I would lose my redundancy?
TIA

What does your contract say about relocating?

Generally you would be offered relocation if possible, but wouldn't lose your redundancy if you didn't accept it. However, the situation may be slightly different if there are detailed clauses in your contract allowing them to relocate you.

Hi Ribena, I will have to checked and find first my contract. When I started to work for this company (almost 12 years ago) the office/site near Birmingham didn't exit so I don't know if it will say something about relocating.
Thanks.
