Hi i have 2 questions, I work for a charity which is facing possible redundancy because we are run and managed by volunteers who, after 20 or so years, understandably have had enough, due to their age and other comittments want to cease trade at the end of the year if noone else steps up to the job - they say it's now a full time position and we can't afford to pay anyone to do it. Presumably this is lawful? Although my colleagues and I don't really understand why because business is ok we're just about breaking even, so we're not in debt but aren't building up a cushion of funds. There's nothing dodgy going on.
My second question is is there something which states that employees facing redundancy should be allowed time off to attend interviews / training courses etc because I am having trouble with this too!
