Does anyone an AVON rep? Is it worth your while?

I'm currently out of work and am trying to find something to do to earn a bit of money and fit around the children. There's not a lot of work out there to fit into all these criteria.
I've just had a quick look into Avon and would be interested to hear from those of you that do it and what you think of it.
The site tells me you pay £15 up front and then get £1 back for every £4 of products sold?
Thanks.

it is worth it if you have the time to put in to make sales and get customers

i do it on top of my full time job and don't make that much on it because i'm always too busy/tired/lazy to canvass more than the people i know and also because i end up buying stuff!

I did it for a while years ago and financially, it is so not worth it. I don't know if it's different now because of online ordering but back then I would traipse around the local areas putting catalogues through doors, then go back a few days leter to collect them and there were v few orders.

Have you considered the other direct selling things, like Usborne?

You get a minimum of 24% commission from day one and it is very easy to fit around children.

If you'd like more info drop me an email to [email protected]

I've decided against the Avon route now but thanks for your replies.
Yes I've done the direct sales thing. Used to do Mini IQ. I won't be going back down that route again as last time I got myself stuck in a circle of customers and couldn't seem to break out and to be honest books are so cheap in the high street these days I know a lot of my friends and family prefer to buy there now.

I know you have decided not to go down the Avon route but get in touch if you would like some honest advice an I will do my best to help. I have been an Avon rep for a little while and I really enjoy it. I have found that being an avon representative is worth while but I did have some great advice from my sales leader which makes a huge difference. I am now also a Sales leader and I enjoy helping others to get the most out of their venture. It also fits in well with my 3 young children and no childcare costs! Selling Avon successfully does take effort and determination but it certainly can be worth while. Take a look at my new website if you would like further information or if you are interested taking things further you can also apply. There you will find my email address and contact details. I am always happy to help in what ever way I can. Good luck in how ever your future takes you. www.avonangel.co.uk

Hi there, I work for the RNIB as a homebased fundraiser. It is a salaried position and all costs like telephone/stationery are covered. If you need any info I would be happy to help.
