Have seen a part -time job locally which would suit me down to the ground. I'm in the process of completely the application forms but already stressing about, on the chance that I do get an interview, what I will say & ask.

ie why do you want this job ? A) because it fits in with school hours, pays ok & gets me out the house..I don't think that will cut it ?

Also.. what can you bring to this job ? Good sense of humour, passion...???

Then there are the what question would you like to ask ?
Holidays ? promotion ? what are the right questions & answers ?

Hey! Not an expert, but am pretty good in interviews how about;

Why do you want this job - Well, I feel that it's time I returned to work, and this position really caught my eye. I feel that it's a field that I would love to know more about (assuming it's something you haven't done before) or to etend my experience/knowledge in. I also wanted a role that I could commit to 100% and as this position fits in with my lifestyle, I know that I could completely concentrate on and give it my full attention without having outside worries.

What can you bring to the role?
(without knowing your previous work history - which you are allowed to talk about even if it was 15 years ago)
Having run a household of small children, I am used to multi-tasking and prioritising, whilst still keeping a blance of fun. I know how to work as part of a team and how to motivate (always having to motivate children to help tidy the house/eat dinner etc.)

Questions for you to ask;
Could you tell me more about the team I would be working with? (Structure and age ranges etc.)
Am I replacing someone? or a new role?
Did they leave (why?) or were they promoted etc.
(you will then get your answer regarding promotion prospects)
If they have honestly told you everything during the interview then just be honest and say
no thank you, you have been very thorough - although would it be possible to take a number to contact you if I have any questions at a later date?

Please DO NOT ask about holidays/promotion prospects etc until you have been offered the role and are talking terms and conditions - you will look as though you don't want the job, just the perks and the money (which may be the case, but don't let them know that!!)

I always find that it helps to think of the interview as much for you as for them, you might not want to work there, so make sure you interview them too

And smile lots

Good luck, lets us know how it goes

that's great thanks for that

Given me lots to think about, I think I'll write down some questions etc just to get the grey matter churning...& hope I do get an interview.
