Setting up shop...

I have often thought about having my own shop, and am looking into as a serious option. Does anyone know how to go about getting stock? I know that sounds odd, but how do you get stuff to sell?

Thanks in advance!

what sort of shop would it be? you'd need to look for wholesalers of whatever product(s) you want to sell, such as a cash and carry, or will you be selling arts/crafts type things and need to find people who produce them?

More arts/crafts... Where do you look? x

I just typed arts and crafts trade shows into google and got loads of listings so I guess that would be a good place to start.

A trade show is a good idea, thanks!

There are trade magazines, too- Greetings Today for cards, Gifts Today and Gift Focus www.giftfocus.com/index.cfm(these include some craft type suppliers, jewellery etc) that you could register for. TheWholesaler is a legit wholesale website, I paid to have my business registered on there until recently but it's free for retailers to browse.
And if you want something that's in the baby product/card/gift line, there's always me www.chiggs.co.uk/trade_and_wholesale.htm
