My reckoning is hazy around the tax/NI etc especially.

If I take a job which is 0.6 WTE of £32,500.
What am I earning an hour? I've got this far:

I'm earning £19200 p.a for my 22 hours a week. I think that's £16.80 before tax/NI are paid.

I suspect that once I've paid for travel time and London childcare, that this is going to be erm, cost-neutral isn't it.

OK, following the thread under mine I found the handy calculator and reckon it's about £13.30 an hour. Mmm. Oh well, is only for a year. God I wish there were more childminders around Islington. I just don't need a nanny. Still onwards and upwards. And get me away from the kitchen cupboards a few days a week. (bored and fat emoticon)

Does butadreams calculator help?

Makes the salary I was looking at look even more pathetic doesnt it. but I think that it would be rather like free labour for you. Does child care come before tax? also I don't know how much help you could get with childcare costs?

Hi
annual sal into actual hours = 32,000 x 0.6

=19200

take this and enter detail into this website for take home.

Hourly rate prior to tax is 19200/52 (weeks pa)/22 (hours per week) = £16.78

Your hourly rate calculation is correct - but the website is good for calculating take home pay although will not be exact (give or take £20 normally) as personal circumstance/payments to date/tax code play a factor
