Please can someone help, its a lonh story but I really need some advice.

3 years ago a driver deliberhately drove into my car, he refused to give details, luckily he was unable to drive away and despite requests from lots of people (it was in a public place) he gave no info. I was on my own with my 5 year old son so I listened to the advice and called the police.

The police woman that came was awful, she would not listen to me or any of the other witnesses and referred to the incident as a collision, implying I had been in the car. The turning point came when she told me that there had been allegations of assault, at which point I became very aggitated and throw my hands in the air and said I don't * believe this. I was handcuffed in front of my son who was distraught and put into a police car. Luckily a witness informed the police that my son was not able to go to the police station because there was no car seat. This same person then called my husband, who immediately called back and spoke to the policewoman. He arrived at the scene and took my son away from the incident. He was advised that I would need to give a statement at the policestation.

Once there I was given a penalty notice for a public order offence "for using foul and abusive language in the hearing of adults and children" I wrote a formal letter of complaint and I decided that I wanted a formal complaint by the Police Complaints Authority to be done. To do this I was told that io could not admit guilt therefore the case went to court. At court I was given a 6 month conditional discharge and a fine.

It is only now that this is proving to be a nightmare as I am training to be a teacher and this seems to be coming back to haunt me.
I have recently been offered employment by a company who are aware of the situation,(I would be teaching children at after school clubs)however the county council have sent a letter to the 2 school's that I am working in advising them that I must be "closely monitored" and they refer to my conditional discharge as being for "Threatening Behaviour" which is not stated anywhere on the fixed penalty notice that I was given. I coach a sport to children and the organisation that I belong to were happy to let me continue with this when the situation was explained.

Please can someone advise me what i can do, I tried very hard to do the right thing but I now feel as though I am losing my sanity.

Any comments would be grateful - thank you

It won't stop you becoming a teacher, but it will show on your CRB, as you've found out. It's then up to the employers how they chose to treat it if they employ you. I think you should try not to let it get to you: you know you did nothing wrong and are not a danger to anyone, but they don't know that are have to be careful.
