I though it was 4.85 but I could be wrong - it's going up to 5.04 in Oct

The adult rate of the minimum wage (for workers aged 22 and over) will increase from its present hourly rate of £4.85 to £5.05 in October 2005, and to £5.35 in October 2006.

Was going to ring up for a trainess dental nurse position and it says it meets minimum wage.

Hmmmmmmmm whats a betting they say i'm too old for trainee ??

They'l be looking to pay 3 something an hour then as they wat a junior

If it does have an age limit i think i'll complain that it wasn't stated in the ad (job centre plus website) as I get so dissapointed when that happens.

Hmmm not a burning ambition no, but it is in the immeidate area that I live and I would find it interesting etc etc.

Why not see if the jobcentre has any vacancies....I didn't like it much but once you are in the Civil Service, it's very secure

I would Katy but I have zilch experiance in any area except cleaning hotel rooms, and most places seem to want at least 6 mths experiance nowadays.

If the dental nurse thing is no good, i'll keep looking.

You don't need much exp to be an AA (or at least you didn't when I started) and it's very safe employment (in fact it's quite hard to get out)

And no one wants to work for them so try???

nutcracker, FWIW, a friend of mine (miam's sister) trained as a dental nurse when she was about 30, it perhaps depends on the practice but age didn't matter with the practice she trained with.
