Quick CV question please

This is not strictly going back to work question as always worked p/t but not done a CV for ages (usually used on line option to apply) but think need to have one and better than the form I need to fill in for this job.

Main question - how many pages should it be? have had quite a few jobs over the years so is it OK to have 2 pages as don't think could fit on to one!

Any other tips please.

Many thanks and good luck to everyone else!

TIA

2 pages maximum.

Put emphasis on the jobs/qualifications relevent to the position and mentiong all other things very superficially.

It helps to have several CVs, thn just cut and paste to createnew one according to the position you are applying for.

Two pages is fine (never more).
Make sure that everything important is on the first page and that most recent experience/most impressive qualifications are easy to spot. I have heard a few people confess that they only really look at the first page (and briefly at that), so how you present the info is important.

Thanks for that - I could fill in the council application form instead.

Any comments on which is best??

If they are providing a form, fill the form. Unless you ar applying for a senior position and the form doesn't have enough space / is not apropiate.

If you are applying for a specific job and there is a form, do that.

Thanks - it did say that CVs were also accepted. Need to do CV as well to have ready for any other job applications so will take the advice on board.

Thanks again

Now in the process of finishing off the application form to email in and have question about the interview date. As it is a council job I know that potential I/V date is next Monday which is a work day for me (only until 1.30). As I work part-time in a school and don't have lunchbreak (as only 4 hours) there is no way I could take time off for I/V without telling my boss - which I don't want to do at this point. Would it be extremely presumptious to say that if I am lucky enough to be selected for i/v could it possibly be after 2pm? Or should I just wait and see if get i/v and then poss ask to change the time - or will have to throw a sickie! Obviously I have no idea if I will get an i/v or not......

Advice please.
Thanks
