What's the best job you ever had?

I would like to return to work part time and if we could afford it, would be happy to study/train.

There was a thread recently about which job you could never do but I would like to know, what was your best job regarding enjoyment rather than pay.

Just thought it would be interesting to maybe get some ideas. Sorry if it's been done before. TIA.

i would love to be able to give up my job and be with my children. to me that is the best job i could ever do.

I love being with people and pre-children I absolutely loved my job as a Probation Officer. Think I would have liked social work too. Now I agree with Booyhoo - just wish I could stay at home with my kids.

public sector housing jobs. Has flexible working policies which is good. Civil servant roles in general

The best job I've had n still have is as a Childminder, I have been doing it since 1987 and LOVE it.
My two children are grown up and I have a two year old grand-daughter a step-daughter (who I used to childmind!) and a step-son who my friend looked after, they all love my job too as does my husband when he's off work on holiday as he joins in the fun!
I can understand parents being wary of leaving their babies/children to go back to work but you'll know when/if you chhose the right place/person to look after your most important treasure!

My best job was being a HCA on the Observation Ward at the hospital.

It is a 10 bedded ward with 5 monitor beds for cardiac patients and we got every single ailment you could imagine. We were/are the ward between A&E and the wards.

I got to experience everything, from caring for the elderly, general and surgical problems. The only thing that never came through our doors were children.

I loved that job.... but unfortunately politics and bureaucracy drove me out of nursing/caring

Teaching adult literacy. That was unpaid though - but you can get paid for it, obviously.

The job I have! I work for a big music festival which combines my love of music with ... well, being paid! I always wanted to work with music and it turned out I was also quite good at the admin side, so I have worked my way up from fairly lowly beginnings.

So from my point of view I'd be asking what have you enjoyed / been good at in previous jobs? What are your passions or hobbies? Can you think of a way to combine the two?
