how much does a job need to change in order to make someone redundant

My current nanny works 3 days a week. In the near future I will need different hours (4 days a week, shorter days) and slightly different duties (bit more house-work, less activities as kids in school more). New job will pay slightly less. Can I legitimately make her redundant? (please don't pounce on me, there is a bigger picture here, of which nanny is aware- I am not being devious)

i dont know, however my job description had not changed and my job had. apparently i could have took my employed to court for expecting me to things for which i wasn't employed. so watch yourself!

if she has worked for more than 2 years you will have to pay her redundancy money. if SHe decides to leave

i think you also HAVE to offer her the new job 1st... (rather than othr people)

if not i think surely you can just give her her months notice
