I was considering working for avon. But one of my friends who did it said it wasn't very profitable as you have to buy your catalouges an samples. How was it for you?

Hi Skribble,

Going against general concencus here, I actually think Avon is good. I earn good money for the hours I put in (currently about 2 per week) and am taking home approximately £70-£100 every 3 weeks. Yes, there are problems sometimes with deliveries but I haven't had this. If a team is managed in the correct way then there shouldn't be people trying to pinch your territory either. It depends on how hard you want to work as to how much money you bring in. I think people are being a little harsh here when they say Avon is crap. Its a multi billion pound company which also has a very high status in America. There is no initial outlay - yes you have to buy your books but what is omitted here is that they cost approximately £4.50 for 20 books and you get your first two campaign books free.

At the end of the day its up to you but I think some of the advice you have been given here isn't very open minded, which I can understand if people have had bad experiences. One of my team members actually worked for another company mentioned here and said they couldn't have been treated worse. I have even had one of the said companys get extremely angry with my on my own doorstep when I said I didn't want one of their books delivered to me - the retort was "I've been delivering a book here for two years, what's changed your mind then"...my answer "I've just moved in thank you very much".

Hope this helps and if you want any further infomation my email is [email protected].

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

CJayne

Thanks CJayne, I haven't written off Avon yet but I am going to see how I get on with Betterware first. I really want to be able to give up one of the 3 jobs i am doing at present and work more from home so if I can do avan along with Betterware I will consider it.

hi i tried Avon twice!both times didn't make much only bout £10 a week it depends on your area if u have regulars who have big orders you r ok you could end up making a lot.good luck to anyone trying it!!!

I did it a couple of months back and by the time I paid my 2 lots of admin fees, bought bags, order forms etc I made a pitance.

I packed it in straight away. I had to go out 4 times in a week to post brochures and pick them back up. A total waste of time.

Like NNT said if you have regulars or somewhere that you can get alot of orders from like a M&T group, work, family etc then it could work for you but if not it's not much cop really.
