I have recieved a written warning at work out of the blue and I dont how to handle the situation as I am in shock.

This was just handed to me this morning no meeting nothing, can they do this?

All was said by my director is if you want to discuss it I will be back in the office later

I am now sat here with his wife the other director whom is being very nice

I am now very worried and scared that I am going to be left with out a job.

All I can think of is that she (one of the directors) is jealous of me as for months she has been making little comments not about work but about my personal life....like she is joking but really being a bitch.

I just feel so sick what can I do, do I just ride it out until i maybe get another job?

Sadhoney, the bloody cheek! I know it's hard as a single mum, but it seems you're doing all the right things sending cv's out etc.
Even if you do leave then can you go for constructive dismissal. Keep copies of everything and write everything down in a diary. good luck.

Yes that is what i have started doing writing everything down etc, hopefully if i have a good nights sleep and will be fighting fit tomorrow

whatever you do, don't give up mentally: very important. don't let them get inside your head.

In you formal warning letter (which probably should have been preceded by a verbal warning) they have to state that you have the right of appeal, and name a person to whom you should address that appeal.

Talking about a personnel issue in the middle of the office is wholly inappropriate, and constitutes harrassment.

I know this sounds a bit left field, but I reckon they probably told the agency that you did not tell them off the monies owed, and they will discipline you, and make sure it never happens again if they keep their acocunt with them?
