Still unemployed after redundancy...any suggestions on what I can do?

I was made redundant 5 weeks ago and still haven't found anything else. I've had 2 interviews but was unsuccessful . I'm running out of patience now and would love a new perspective on what I can do. I love working with people and helping them - I've been doign youth work but the job I had was unique in that it din't involve evenings or weekends, which I can't do regularly. I've got a Sociology degree and am halfway through a Youth Work training course .
I want a hands on job but don't know what!! I don't fancy care work, customer service,support work, nursery/playgroup or anything like that. I did think about doing a course in baby massage as I know they're short of instructors in our area but I just don't know... Dd goes to nursery 2 days a week so it really needs to fit in with that if possible. She's also the reason I'm not too bothered about pursuing my career further atm.

Probably a total long shot but any suggestions would be much appreciated

Not sure if you would be interested in doing what I do as a part or full time job, but it maybe worth thinking about. I work as an independent associate for a company called Mini IQ selling childrens education, fun and stimulating books/toys and games up to the age of 12 years, mainly through home parties. As I am an independant associate I can do the hours that I want to work and that suit me and my family, and if I want to book a home party during the day most hostesses are happy for me to take my son along with me. This sort of job may be worth considering as not only ytou work the hours that suit you, but you can work as close to home as you want or you can work further a field, there are no limits or pressures.

Finding work that fits in with family life is really tricky. I have three daughters but have found the ideal job. I found it easier to work from home and fit the work around my family commitments. Take a look at this - it's the perfect job for all parents!
