If I wanted to make food to sell informally at car boot sales etc would I need to have a food hygene certificate? Would I definately need one if I started a business online? If so how would I get one?

Most fe colleges offer a short course.

oh and your kitchen may need to pass a council hygiene inspection to sell commercially online

Ok thanks for your help. Might give it a go. But it is not needed if just selling at fetes etc?

Hello Posh - welcome to the new start up thread you posted on by the way (not around as much at mo)

I lookd into this, you are allowed to produce baked goods in your own kitchen for 4/.5 days per month or 30 day period PLEASE check this on your local council website. Any more than that you have to be inspected and registered as food premises (people do this) and yes you do need the certs as others have said.

There is loads of advice and links to craft fair organisers on the other thread. I am going away so best of luck and may catch up with you on other thread after Easter.
