When a patient, an adult, grown-up patient, new to contact lenses managed to put his contact lens in first go, I exclaimed "Good boy!"
Please tell me I'm not the only one to have done things like that!

Hahahahahaha!

I am famous in my office for taking a carload of engineers down the M11 and pointing animatedly at the roadworks:

'Look - diggers!'

I think they were interested actually, just too embarassed to admit it.

I was having a bit of a heated argument/difference of opinion with my colleague and I called her Esme (my dd's name)...

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 20/02/2009 17:04

I was showing members in my WW class how the scales work and saying you type in the word of food you want, and I said puh ah ss tuh ah, instead of pee ay ess tee ay.

This is what happens when you have a 5 year old learning to read at home

Oops

I took the hand of my head of department to help him across the road.

He is in his 50s. He knows how to cross roads.

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2009 17:10

chipmonkey - could have been worse. If he'd refused to try them were you going to send him to the naughty step?

I haven't done much at work of too terrible a nature but I have tried to put dh's jumper on for him more than once!

chipmonkey · 20/02/2009 19:43

Hmmm, there's an idea, the naughty step!

MissisBoot · 23/02/2009 20:40

excellent

WilyWombat · 23/02/2009 20:40

Libra that has really made me laugh, i'm guessing he was a bit startled.

WilyWombat · 23/02/2009 20:41

Im forever calling people "sweetie"

cmotdibbler · 23/02/2009 20:44

Colleague and I do threaten (only between ourselves) to put people on the naughty step. I also find toddler taming tips work well on dealing with my bosses boss

MrsPurple · 23/02/2009 20:55

really funny. I'm starting back to work next week after being off for 3 years (with DD2), it makes me think It won't be as hard as I thought

MrsMerryHenry · 23/02/2009 20:58

Libra - the question is, did he pull away straight away, or let his hand linger...? Great story!

saymyname · 23/02/2009 21:00

On that finest moments of my illustrious career thread in classics an aneasthetist put an adult patient to sleep with the words 'it's sleepy time now darling.'

Always make me smile

WilyWombat · 23/02/2009 21:16

I quite often say "night night" when im dropping the boys off at school, they generally at me

MrsMerryHenry · 23/02/2009 21:17

Brilliant! Well they do say that if you go under in a good mood you'll wake up cheerful, so maybe it did some good!

Annabel1 · 26/02/2009 08:09

When chivvying a class of year six children along I frequently say "quick sticks".
