Oh Help! I know I will sound silly and ungrateful, but I don't know what to do....

I recently applied for 2 jobs.

Job 1: Full time, will be stressful, good pay
Was interviewed and offered the job (whooppee!)

Job 2: part time (28 hrs Mon-Thurs), no (or little) stress, net pay 50% of above job
Have been called to interview.

I just don't know what to do. Maybe I am worrying prematurely as I may not even be offered Job 2 (although they have already asked for references)...

But, so I am prepared, should I land up with TWO job offers, WWYD?

I am receiving conflicting advice in RL. One school of thought says 'go for the f/t job, you won't get back into that kind of work again if you take a lower scale job, and if you don't like it you can always resign and get p/t admin job'.

Second school of thought says: F/T job will be stressfull, you will get no time for yourself, money won't be worth it, you'll be miserable, the company are very high pressure.

In context, we could manage nicely with money I earned from p/t job... but with f/t would be very comfortable.

Help please....!

Well, without knowing precisely what the the jobs entail, I suppose the Q is how good are you at managing stress and why are you returning to work? If you are pretty level-headed and need the money then definitely go for 1. It might not be as stressful as you think and as you said you can always change your mind.

And you might not get the 2nd job.

I'm not sure how old your children are, but I'd go for the F/T one - you applied for it, so must have been interested, and the "whooppee!" is a good sign!

Pay that makes life very comfortable is also good - lovely holidays etc.

Give it a go and give it a good 6 - 12 months. If you hate it, get out!

If it is about the money definitely go for the part-time one. Doesn't matter how much you are being paid, if the job/stress/no time for yourself makes you miserable, you will still be miserable even if you have loads of cash.

If you applied for the f-t one because you really want that job then congratulations, go for it and spend (some of) the money on getting as much help as you can.

I would go for the F/T one and see how it goes. BTW, is there any flexibility in it? In the fT one, would there be a possibility that you could ask for a 4 day week, for example, even if this was at a later date?
