Anyone fancy chosing a career for me?

Am thinking of retraining when DD starts school.

So far my thoughts go as far as primary school teacher (something I thought of pre-children, so it's not a knee-jerk reaction to wanting school holidays) but wondered what other term-time work was out there.

I like sinking my teeth into a project and also researching stuff. As I said, I would far prefer term-time only work.

Any ideas gratefully received!

No ideas I'm afraid but I'm thinking of returning to work and would love term-time only, so will be watching this with interest!

Speech and language therapist. I think some work term time only. Still seems to demand for them too.

Hi basementbear - happy watching.

Thanks Dustyteddy.

Teaching assistant at your DD's school?

Have you looked at your local council website? Council's tend to be good with term time only / flexible working / job shares etc.

what skills/training/experience have you got?

University education, worked in marketing and facilities management pre-dd, but want a total change now.

If you are interested in admin type jobs in interesting areas with lots of responsibility for projects try your local universities websites? Their jobs aren't strictly speaking term-time but they do get very long hols and tend to give all staff 2 weeks off over Christmas etc...our local unis has really interesting posts for things like encouraging certain under-represented sections of the community to apply for uni - so going out into schools, doing presentations for funding et....Agree with MrsM that councils often have term-time only jobs, especially non-teaching jobs linked to schools...what are your main interests?

Hmmm - thanks. I can see that I need to really have a good think.
