TAX help - working from home - what expenses can I claim??

I am just about to do my tax return for 07/08. Was working from home as solicitor and the firm accountant used to do my return. I recently resigned so now have to do my own.

I only made about £5,600 but need to take some off if possible to avoid paying tax.

Does any know if I can claim part of heating/lighting etc back.

I worked supposedly half the week but ended up being on call most of the time.

im sure you can but you do need to keep all the bills/receipts and it is only for the time you are working, so keep a record of hours etc - you will need to do the maths to work out what share of the bills are in work time

computer, phone, expenses to see clients etc

not childcare
