I know a few people who do this and they tend to sell them at village markets etc which is fine if you live in a rural area. The cards are nice and cheaper than the ones you'd get in the shops.

Thanks, great name!!

I have recently moved back to a rural area so quite a few of them around, the profit seems ok but not sure if I will actually make anything

I'm not sure this is the right time, after all I buy cheap birthday cards for dc friends in the supermarket etc, when they are on offer. There just something I economise on. If I've got £8 to buy a gift and £1.50 goes on the card that's only £6.50 left to spend IYSWIM.

I love phoenix cards and buy loads of my local rep. I thought about selling them when my youngest started preschool, but there were already three agents in my area. So instead I started with Tish Tash Toys - similar set up just with wooden and educational toys instead of cards. I don't know if you would be interested but they they are running a join for free offer in January - just see their website for more information.

HI Thanks brid, I have looked at Tish tash toys, saw them at a fair last year and liked the toys, may have a look again, have phoneix woman comin round wed so may sort out some questions then

I don't think many people would buy them. Sounds like a lot of effort for something that people don't actually need.

I used to sell Phoenix cards. The cards are lovely and I have loads of stock left but the commission isn't that much. Their annual fee went up last year so I stopped. I think the way to make money from it is to sponser lots of people then you take a cut of their sales aswell as your own.

sophy · 18/01/2009 10:14

I like the phoenix cards and often buy them at fairs etc, had a friend who sold them to but then stopped.

I think your success will depend entirely on how many other people are selling them in your area.

When I lived in West London there were probably too many people selling to make decent money at it unless you were in at the beginning and had sponsored lots of others, as mogs said.

Am now in rural area and they do not seem to be as widely available.

I used to do Phoenix Cards alongside Avon. They were lovely, but I found it hard to make any substantial amount of money relative to the amount of time I put in. I gave up after just under a year, but carried on with Avon where I am now a team builder and make a significant income. If anyone wants to join my team............

Hi there,

Slightly different from Phoenix cards, but they were one of the companies I looked into when looking for a party plan job.

I am an Independent Consultant with The Pampered Chef. I sell good quality kitchen and tableware products. Have a look at my website www.pamperedchef.biz/georgina

I can help you get started as a Consultant and earn a decent income by working part time hours that fit around your family. If you enjoy food, cooking and girlie get ? togethers?, please contact me to find out more.

I have been a Consultant with the Pampered Chef for nearly two years. After having twins and a three year old toddler, I realised that I would be unable to return to my previous job. I started looking for a job that would fit around my family and allow me to be a full time stay at home Mum. I have to say I've found it with The Pampered Chef!!!

If you would like to chat about becoming a consultant (I earnt more than £100.00 p/w in my first month)please contact me on (07980) 659364.

Hope to hear from you soon

Georgina

Another network marketing business is Utility Warehouse. It's all about saving people money on their essential outgoings.

I've been doing it for a while now and it's very flexible - so perfect if you need to fit around life with kids .

If you're interested, have a look at the link and click on 'Earn with Us' at the bottom.

I used to buy a lot of Phoenix Cards but with the supermarkets doing cute cards at such cheap prices, I've stopped - £1 a card used to be cheap, but it's not anymore. I might buy the odd one at a playgroup if they're out in a basket, but don't do an order anymore

mrsturnip · 01/03/2009 17:09

I used to do Phoenix cards but the delivery rates are really high so you have to keep a huge stock if you want to be able to provide individual cards on demand. And you have to wrap all the cards etc yourself which is PITA.

I have a (neglected at the moment as I've been busy with my real job) blog looking at various ways of earning extra money. I'll eventually get round to reviewing Phoenix cards, but in the meantime I've reviewed a few home businesses.

Schlumpf (and anyone else on here) I'm always looking for people to 'interview' -by email- just answering a set of questions about their homeworking etc If you want to be 'interviewed' please contact me on the email address in my blog profile.

I'm a Phoenix trader and really love it - I work full time and fit in in around my work hours. You get 30% from each card you sell so at the beginning it may not seem like much but then you can build up a customer base with repeat orders which then don't take much effort to maintain. Also you don't have to cello-wrap the cards which is better for the environment anyway. And it is true that there's more money to be earned by sponsoring, but the nice thing is that you can take the business where you want it to be ? large or small.

Btw if anyone needs a trader to order from, you can order online here!
